BA XR6 Turbo

I went with a mate to help check out a 2004 BA XR6 Turbo today

Owner has looked after it really well

Can with a CAPA flash tuner with 3 tunes incl a valet tune.

What are the easy mods on these?

My mate would like a bit more grunt, but nothing too over the top yet - we dont need another barra motor spreading itself everywhere ( Tocchi style haa haa)

High flow cat with cat back exhaust
Valve springs
Intercooler
Fuel pump
Injectors
CAI if you can be bothered
Re-tune to suit (xft or mt)


That should get it up around 400rwhp

Pretty much the same advice I was given. I was under the impression that a tornado/typhoon was all good though? Can someone confirm?

Yes BA/BF turbo models got the stronger motor, Xr6 Turbo's also got it post July 06 (although it's not a hard and fast cut off point. That latter in 06 the build date the better)

Having said that there are quite a few hi hp ba stock bottom end cars getting around these days and plenty have broken BF bottom ends so as always it comes down to tuner and supporting mods.
