O k
Dave will probably rule this thread
If someone was to want to build up a twin turbo ls427, what components would you use
My thoughts motor wise, are
ls3 block
Callies Crank
Manley Rods
Pistons ? C/R?
Mast Heads
Yella Terra R/Rockers to suit
Trend etc adjustable pushrods
All ARP Studs, bolts
Cometic gaskets
Bearings?
Cam?
Fast 102 Manifold ???
Go for top mount turbos
Sizing/brand?
Would be happy to run it on e85 now that "The man" has possibly seen the light and tuned one for Shane Stevens
Not saying Im going to build it but---- Fuck I want to try turbo power - blown power is nice, so is stroker torque BUT we only live once and pingpingpingpings my age are dying around me!
Throw ya ideas at me
Would be going in my Monaro, and don't want to cut the shit out of it to fit up

1000WHP is where its at
If going boosted wouldn't it be worth going iron block?
That aside, do it.

Evman, Black Hulk where does it end
Years ago, I got 350
Then 400
Then 500
Then blown hi 500's
BUT I would like to try turbo power as a comparison
I am going to part out the Drag Car this year, so will use some parts from it, and sell the rest on motor, box etc included

I'm hoping it will end once I hit my targets. Then I'll move on to something else.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with though.

I'd go an LSX cast iron block. Run the c/r up in the mid 10's and run lower boost (15psi range) - it'll be nicer to drive "around town".

wouldn't use an alloy block for a 427, you'd need a 4.125 crank. to do it right you might as well go lsx block = more weight.
lsx manifold = waste of $$$
other than that, honestly I wouldn't bother even our stripped out vt-vz engine bays are a fucking tight fit up top with big turbo's.
Dad's twin turbo setup in his drag car is reasonably compact, bolts up to motor outside of car with dump pipe and drop it in. but access to plugs etc is not ideal on passenger side, for a drag car heat build up is not really a problem but a street car, your going to need to heat wrap fucking EVERYTHING, along with battery relocate to boot.
Then your going to need to cut shit to run intercooler.
In short, DONT DO IT.
or if you must. put a big fuck off single turbo with large exhaust manifold's on your existing drag motor and run it on e85.

Go see John. Give him a large pile of money. END THREAD :D hahaha, but seriously this sounds like a serious build idea!
Would a big single be easier to fit then a twin setup? Plus the cost of a single vs twin? Big single GTX45 would look (and sound) great.
TMS over east made 930HP with a 403ci and GTX4508 through a T400.

Does he do it on his own or through active's?
I thought you could only get it as a drive-in/drive-out package through actives.
I've got a set of brand new gtx35's with tial 1.05 rear housings if you want to go that way faedy.

He hasn't worked with Actives for a while now... and no he doesnt work for SQP either
Anyways I think what the OP is referencing to is the link below.. theres a couple of other details there..

Big single might be the go. Can't imagine low down torque would be an issue simply because of the displacement, and engine bay room would be so much better

Rhs block, under square and boost the shit out of it. Plenty of small turbos these days that will make huge power.

Put a rotary in. Do a reverse LS swap and be non-mainstream.
Holden did it themselves back in the 70's before it was cool (Google Mazda Roadpacer if you don't know what I'm on about)

So Dave , what sort of C/R do you think is safe to run with E85 and 12 or 15 psi?
