The Aristo has been in Australia since 2009 and had its 100,000km service by the previous owner which I was told included timing belt, water pump, and cam seals.
Since owning it, all I have done is change the oil/filter and spark plugs – its run beautifully and flawlessly. When I was replacing the plugs, I decided to do a compression test and it came up with healthy numbers of 170-175psi across the board.
The only “modification” I have done is the Mines ECU upgrade to eliminate the factory boost cut. The car doesn’t run an aftermarket boost controller, however with the exhaust/intercooler upgrade it runs a safe 13-14psi by itself which the stock ECU would tell you off for. The Mines ECU was bloody expensive... but I liked the idea of factory plug n play and factory driveability so I bit the bullet and got one.

It’s an absolute great cruiser that has all the comforts and engineering that you would expect from a 90s Toyota and with the BPUs on the 2JZ it does honk along when needed. With that being said, I do a lot of freeway driving with my work and the majority of the time its chilling at 2200rpm on the freeway with cruise control running the show.
