Perth Hotel recommendations

Got a mate flying down in a weeks time, and his missus is keen on staying a night or two at a nice hotel.
They have a 7yr old kid, and want something that isnt too far away from the central perth area.

Ive only ever stayed at Rendezvous Hotel in Scabs back over 10years ago... so i have no idea what to recommend

Does anyone know of anything, or can recommend a place to look into, or know of any short stay specials that are on?

Holiday Inn in Hay St for something centrally located.
If they don't mind spending a bit more, probably Ridges.

The Fraser Suite Hotel in East Perth is pretty good.

Stayed a few nights in the Pan Pacific, think it was close to being a suite, had it's own loungeroom and shit, was decent.

Used to stay at Citadines on St Georges Terrace when it used to be Somerset hotel, decent place for a mid-level price i found and a great restaurant underneath
