As promised we're on a mission to keep improving Racewars and deliver more of what you've told us you want from the event. So not only have we worked hard to keep the entry fees as low as possible in addition to the timed 1000m VMAX Challenge session we're going to be recording trap speeds during the Roll On Racing sessions! This means all of our entrants will leave with verified records of their cars performance across the weekend.
We're also going to mix things up a bit and will invite our entrants to hit up a handling course set up on the runway for a bit of pre event fun the Friday evening before the event.
With the event team working towards the Racewars 2015 launch we'll have more information ready to be released over the coming weeks. Stay tuned and spread the news; Racewars 2015 is shaping up to be the best one yet.
It's that time of year again...
For our third year we think we've come up with some achievable improvements in key areas of the event that will improve the event for everyone (including us event staff). The basics remain the same as they always have been. We'll be out in Wylie once again running over 400m, 800m and the timed 1000m VMAX event for those who're keen to push themselves and their car that little bit harder and we're hoping for a strong showing from right across the WA car scene. The addition of a twilight (traffic) cone killing session should add a bit of variety to the weekend and we think that every entrant being able to walk away with some timing records from the weekend will also be a great addition to the weekend.
Without giving too much away pricing is thereabouts to what it was last year and the event reg's are only slightly changed from the 2014 version so you all should know by now what's going to fly and what's not.
It all sounds so good I might even try and make it out there this year for a look.
Look forward to driving up and down the return road next year
Assume my boss will be entering his GT3

Dave wont get a GT3

Trap speeds for roll ons is a good idea, would be funny for one session to put them at the START line to watch the cheats find excuses for being 20km/hr faster than the other car.
Will be there with bells on again, hopefully no sheared input shaft next year :)

Have some friends going to some of the east coast events to spectate, be interesting to see from their POV how both compare as well as the WA contingent that will be competing Over east as well... Personally I think the other 2 events in Aust will get left behind with these new additions as the mix of what we have going on for this event in WA is awesome, Anyone should be able to have fun....
awesome to see the event put some of it's residual into growing , instead of growing it's residual...:)

All pretty much the same as last yr. Only thing we've really done is add the Minikhana on Friday, add trap speed recording on the roll on's and drop the pricing & entrant cap back to 2013 levels for early entries.
Spectators are $25 for a weekend pass for a car load. Just had another look over the bits of the website you'll be able to see when it goes live. Spectator ticket sales are good to go. The only thing we're not doing is launching the online store for merch & sponsor product packages ect just yet.

It doesn't matter if you have 200 or 1000 horsepower
Keeping it pegged for 1km is something you just can't do these days. And as a bonus you get to see and hear some awesome machines from the drivers seat of the car next to them. Even better you can jump in those machines and go for a ride.

I drove a sort of stock 6 cyl taxi spec Falcon and still had fun.
The entrants mindset and their ability to "have fun" rather then needing to be #1 king dick is more important than their vehicles actual performance.
Sadly several groups seem struggle with this concept. Their loss IMO.
Entered, had a blast with the fwd shopping cart. Need to tell my b2b @ work of impending schedule change.

It's not all about winning, I personally would just rather have a better car to perform in, each to their own though, rag on me all you want. I may bring it down I may not, was hoping my mate would take his 500hp gtr for a spin seeing as it's spent it's life in a garage :P

After seeing my 31 on the dyno for a simple power run last week, making not a lot of power, the seed has been planted and I really want to attend. Fingers crossed my unemployment situation sorts itself out sometime soon and I have a roster to work with to see if I can enter. Gives me good reason to get bigger turbo and retune sooner rather than later.

Will pay Brockas tomorrow for my new Brembo VF ute brakes (fuck Collie!)
Then I will pay my entry for Racewars and see if the new box in the Monaro can handle a flogging after the last T56 decided to hate 3rd and 4th after a couple of runs.
Have been talking to John at SQP about parting out my drag car and dropping the motor into the Monaro just for this sort of thing (Just got to see if I can afford VP109)
I am going to look into dropping from 3.91 rear to 4.11 for next year as I think it will help keep the motor in it sweet spot

Not bad. I'm very very keen to see what happens at Snowy's (Snowy's is the main eastern states event now that drags all the big hitters out for a run). I'm tipping records will be re-written.
In other news we've got a brave man with deep pockets who's decided he wants to have a crack at 200 MPH (320 km/h) at our event next year and isn't messing about to make it happen. Not quite sure what to think of someone aiming for those speeds myself but what can you do...

So we finally got the deal done which providing we make it work will help keep this event viable and going for 2015 and beyond. We've got a lot to deliver to keep these guys onside and while we'll give it a red hot go we need people like us to keep signing up to race, coming to spectate, or engaging with the social media fluff to help us deliver the KPI's we need to keep this deal and keep the event alive.

Phenolic spacer plate or e85...
Downside for the phenolic spacer is you need to disassemble the blower (not hard) but you already have clearance issues, so it will raise the blower again.
I think I proved e85 works last year with my brothers car with it's little hh122/6lt combo - 269kph.

Nothing that major yet haha. Just going to go ahead with an icebox for the intercooler fluid and a heat exchanger on the return line on the fuel system. I don't expect either to make any power, but I hope the ice box improves consistency in the heat. The heat exchanger on the fuel system is purely to stop my fuel tank from boiling in summer and the fuel pump screaming its nut off in the heat.
Tre-Cool
07-12-2014, 06:27 PM
unfortunately for racewars, the icebox will be useless. been there done that. :-) works for the drags, but the heat at wylie and delay between runs will quickly melt the ice.
What i'd suggest doing is tie into the aircon and use that to cool the water. That was going to be my next projecton my ve ( & future for the car I'm setting up).
Evman
07-12-2014, 06:37 PM
I'm keeping the coolant separate from the ice and I'll experiment with dry ice during the summer just to see how it goes. The beauty of that is it's easy to drop the water (if I use regular ice) and refill the container again in queue just before the run (in theory). I'm happy to experiment with it.

As per the regs mate.
If you want to privately sell your entry to someone we'll need there details to enter in to the system in place of yours. If you want to do this just get the details PM'd to me and I'll sort it out.
The other option is you can request a refund (less fees) however I'll be honest and say that we're not in a financial position to issue one because you've changed your mind about attending.
On the subject on entrants - We're still hovering around 50 total entrants shy of where we need to be to make it work and very close to fully sold for the 1000m spots so if you know anyone who's keen to come for a run give them a bit of a reminder to get it done.

Well looks like the only option is to camp. It would appear everything is sold out etc.

Yeh. We book out pretty much everything in town prior to the dates being announced for staff accom and the like. (that being said the shire leaked dates 3 months before we did for this event so we could of been up shit creek for staff accom if people got wind of that)

Do competitors have to book/pay for a camp spot, or does it come with the entry?
Any other info of the camp spot would be appreciated :)

Cheers Bud...
Can I put my name down for dibs on any abandoned/cancelled entries just in case?
Keen for full track length runs... I'm kinda curious to see what the land yacht can do.
Also, what's the go with nitrous this year?
Cheers

Check the regulations which cover that in section 4.8:

It's at the trotting track next to the caravan park.
The shire charged a fee last year to camp but not in 2013
Police do patrols in there i guess cause of the fires in '13
It's generally pretty busy so try get there in the afternoon on friday to get a good spot near the edge

Putting the team lists together this weekend.
So far we've had the following shops put their hand up.
Active Automotive
ITP / Protune
BTP Motorsport
All Star Garage
West Racing Motor Development
And I'm still talking with a few others ( I'd assume Galvsport may field a car or two ;) ) It will actually be a really good comp I think given it relys on a number of cars performing well not just one or two.
Will there be representatiom from Fat Fuc Racing?

Fat Fac racing transcends all levels of "Gentlemans Motorsport".
The races that comprise 2015 Fat Fac Cup are yet to be finalized.

So you have ruined ITPs chances by entering with a rotor?

I am assuming Fat Fuc racing would be awarded a giant spoon or plate which could be utilised to maintain the fat fuc style.

Missus and I are staying in Dowerin again. The little B&B just before town. As much as Wylie based shenanigans appeal, she's a sook, and my liking for booze could well end with me not driving on Sunday. And possibly even Saturday.
The will is weak, and the arm is rubber.

Team score is based off average of the top 5 vehicles from that team. ITP / Protune have the following weapons on their list.
#1 - ND4SPD
#2 - JME / Regan's old Supra (They are going to support the new owner the weekend while he gets used to the car which is handy given it's 300+ capable)
#3 - ITP Supra (Currently Australia's if not the worlds fastest RWD 1km Supra after it's 312 km/h pass at Snowys)
Then there's the rest of them.
Sheety, the CA18 S13 HP per Litre weapon, a big turbo Maloo, a couple of other reasonable HP Supra's and Skylines and my little dinky 1.3L shitter. I can't see me being pegged at 240(ish) km/h being a huge drag on their score sheet given I shouldn't factor on it. ;)
The All Star / Disney Dyno crew (Run by Marbles) says you're missing a turbo and the one you have is too small to join their team so at this stage it's you, Cochee and the YOLOtriton flying the flag for team Dardysport ? :p
