I have been looking for a nice burnout pad close to home incase i brake something and just found this video...

Anyone know if this is legal? Looks like plenty of rubber on the srtip so quite a few people must go there. Or anyone know of any burnout pads around this area NOR?

It's not legal.
The land afaik is/was owned by the Australia Air Force, pretty sure it's still federal land. Getting caught will end in all kinds of butt hurt.

Plus, there's a lot of historic racing guys trying to get that track going again, given it was the place of the first australian gp, there's a lot of history in it.
One of their property's backs onto the land, expect a beating by wooden cane if they catch you screwing the remaining surface up.

Crazy that we had a GP track that somehow fell by the wayside and left to rot and ended up with barbs. I know GP quality would have been different back in the day but circuits in Europe still existed etc.
Can't seem to find any decent links on a history of the place etc which kind of sucks.

Surely the government would have some "road trauma fund" cash available to buy an acre of land or 2, lay down some massive concrete pads & allow some cars to go out and do whatever they want for a few minutes/hours if need be for a nominal entrance fee. Would hopefully get a lot of idiots off the streets & make bulk coin, cos that's what is important to them. Or am I thinking too far ahead for WA?

Personally wondered why the motorplex isn't all over this sort of cash cow. Charge a monthly membership, heap of concrete crash barriers, max number of people on the pad, break the rules you're banned. Insurance would no doubt be horrendous in this day and age, but surely some form of waiver can be made up/sign at entrance that covers it similar to motorsports in dangerous disclaimer on tickets.
A pad like this at rear car park, hell even possible for unmanned entry if members have a swipe card and there is two sets of auto bollards to allow one car at a time to enter/block it off from non members.

There was an Australian Grand Prix on the streets of applecross in the 30's or 40's.
