Morning.
Looking to buy some v-band clamps and adapters but having never used them I need a bit of schooling.
1. Has anyone used the type available on ebay? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/151190402800
2 . Will the above mentioned clamps fit on my garrett gtx rear housing? or are they slightly different?
3. Do v-bands seal as good a normal flanges?
4. do the stainless ones come apart easy once they have been heat cycled.
Cheers

I've never had any issues with mine, once you've loosened them, give them a bit of a love tap and they normally pop out.
Never had issues with leaks either, there is normally a little lip that slots in to seal better, so the flanges aren't flat if that makes sense?

Sonic/MTQ have a good range

I've used the china-spec v-bands before and wouldn't recommend them if you're looking for serviceability.
I purchased from a couple of different sellers and had the same issue where the metal locknut destroys the tread and makes them impossible to remove.
Edit: MTQ would also be able to tell you if they will suit your GTX housing or not, and there prices are generally better if you email direct.

+1 for sonic/mtq!
bought around 6 of them and never had an issue, they also can take a fair amount of punishment before failing too!
never had any leaks with ones that were welded in correctly.
also skinkis is 100% on the lipped type, they lock together really well and seal fantastically!

I want to order a couple of vband joins as well.
Any chance I can just order with you and pay a share of the postage?

anyone know where you can get 3inch ally V band flange plates, stainless clamp will be fine, thinking about doing a intercooler pipe in my guard in v band to eliminate silicon in hard to access areas.

EDIT Wiggins are the company that originally designed that style. No real gain price wise over the Proflow unit tho. Especially if you have to freight them from the use.
They are fucking cool tho.
