Hi,

Im currently in a hotel in New Zealand using the rooms WIFI and need to send some important emails off. However, when i hit the send/recieve icon it says that this server does not support secure connections. Any ideas? I need these emails sent off asap.

Im working off my Macbook Pro using Outlook.

Cheers
Tom.

Use your phone's internet connection as your internet instead of the wifi?

Go down to the Lobby and have a word with them, did this in Chiang Mai last year when I had to send some emails, hooked laptop straight up to their Ethernet cable and no probs. I had timing out issues though, worth a try.

ISP provided email (POP)?

It will probably be the outgoing server you have set. eg: if you have it set to mail.iinet.net.au, it will only work on iinet connections.

You'll need to set the outgoing server to whatever the hotel is running as their service provider.

Running a speedtest should indicate what ISP you're on. Google for that ISPs SMTP settings and set the outgoing server in Outlook as required.

Or it could be a limitation of their wireless there, blocking outbound SMTP.
