Stupid question but I have never needed any before so not too sure where to start apart from the usual Midalia Steel etc

I am chasing some steel box tube and some plate steel but not sure on best place to go and I am also so useless I am not 100% sure what type to use.

Wont need to support that much weight and I don't want to make the whole thing too heavy either. Was thinking 20 x 20 x 1.6 SHS or stainless SHS?

Here are a couple of examples what I am looking to get built, mate is welding up the chassis for me:

Di Lena Steel supplies in Osbourne Park

Always cheaper than Bunings etc and easy to deal with

Will cut to manageable lengths as well

DiCandilo in Bassendean have always been good to deal with and reasonable on price. Plus they have a scrap/offcuts bin they will let you ferret around in for bits and pieces and they are dirt cheap for offcuts

Cheers guys, I'm just 5 mins from Osborne Park so might try there first and head to Bassendean if I get stuck

Went here yesterday and the guy was awesome. Put up with my stupid questions and half-assed size estimates.

Even had the perfect amount in car boot friendly lengths all ready to go.

I've found for odd size and small lengths salvage yards are pretty good in particular the one on North Lake rd Jandakot they do everything by weight so if your buying small bits it's pretty cheap. Armadale salvage on gilliam drive is also pretty good for long lengths cheap or wood.
