View Full Version : Looking for a Mobile for my Father
Chasing a mobile phone with zero functionality 'just needs call/texting ability'.
Must have large num-pad and screen to suit 67 year old ex-trades-person with sausage fingers.
What's out there?
Cheers,
My nan's super old and she seems to be able to use her "telstra easy call" just fine.

Cheers for that, should add that needs to be able to store numbers as well. Which I'm assuming that does.

Could get a S5 and put it into Ultra power saving mode.

He's got an s3 that 'come hell or high water', I'm going to teach him how to use properly.
This phone is something he can use when on holidays; basically something cheap that he wont be concerned about if he breaks with the bonus of an English manual.
Lol S3 - better off with the easy call!

Something like this? We got my Grandad a similar thing a few years back, put it on a Telstra Casual plan. He managed to figure out the basics without the manual.

Cheers dmwill, will add this to the list along with the easy call.
Any other suggestions are still appreciated.

My Dad is a 69 yr old ex-trady that always had Nokia pushbutton phone's I talked him into a Zte Frontier http://www.zte.com.au/telstra/T81.htm Its simple, robust has good reception, a large dialer interface and BS loud ringer (he's partially deaf] took him a bit to get used to it but once I schooled him on emails and how to send/receive pic's of the grand kids and the eBay app it was all over.
Another option for a simple phone

Went with the Alcatel due to sausage finger friendly buttons and didn't always wear a welding mask eyes; also gives me the opportunity to pull the piss out of the ole man as you can set the phone to voice the numbers when pressed.
That's some top class Fisher Price action right there :D
Cheers,
