So with all the traffic back working in Perth the pingpingpingpings are starting to shit me, so it's only natural to buy a bike.
Unfortunately I have to wait until july/august to arrive.
2014 Harley Davidson Breakout; 103cui, with air filter and vance&hines radius pipes.
Will be tuned etc before I get it and naturally will be black.
Main reason I didnt get a sports bike is because im a tall fat fck,
Enjoy the windy lounge chair and its flawless ability to turn petrol into sound with no actual increase in performance!
Nice way to shit on someone elses purchase that they are clearly happy about, nice guy.

I think that Todd knows me well enough to know when I'm just having a dig!
But good to see we have white knights on the forum still! Did you want his number? he's single and ready to mingle!

Awesome purchase - the 103 cubers love a decent exhaust/intake set up
Go for a decant cam change if you can and the hp increase will give you a woody
Jappa lovers shit on harley's. but fuck all will keep up with a cammed 103" bike, nor do the shit heaps have any resale! - last 3 harley's Ive owned Ive made a profit on 2, and lost 4g on one that was 10y/o!!
Ive got a 2006 98" softail full screaming eagle - takes a bloody good jappa to even come close to matching it, and the ride and comfort is miles in front of what they were back in the 90's - dicks right them off, but have never had the balls to purchase/modify one.
Did 3000km in 6 days last year without aches, pains or problems in the full summer heat

Went through Perth HD, had so much dramas with frasers when dad was looking at his bike so he ended up going through peter stevens cycles in adelaide.
Up until the warranty period expires will go through HD for it all, then when warranty is up I'll deal with thunder Tek in mundaring,
Oh and the most important part is I have to learn to ride the fkn thing.

A couple of mates have recently bought thru frasers and said the same thing. Happy to sell ya the bike but aftercare service apparently doesn't exist.
Congrats on the purchase, how long till you buy another bike as this one isn't street able anymore;)

its not so much you need to learn how to ride you need to instead learn how to dodge the brain dead idiots and rubberneckers that seem to inhabit our freeways. Stay safe mate been 7 or so deaths on bikes in the last month in WA alone.

Thats it. It doesnt matter if you are in the right or the wrong you always lose the arguement on a bike.
Don't forget to dress accordingly!
Cuts and open face helmets look cool but do sweet fuck all when you're sliding down the road....

Out of curiosity, what sort of sport bike does it take to keep up?

A lot of jappers i reckon will smoke the Harley's, but you are comparing two totally different styles of bikes.
It's like comparing a GTR skyline to a HSV really in a sense.

Totally agree, horses for courses.
It just always intrigues me when people say that their Harley will smoke a sports bike. I have never had a Harley come close. Even supercharged, big bore stroker kits etc. Maybe to 60km/h as they can launch harder but that's it.

Harleys aren't really designed to beat sports bikes, harleys are modified to beat other harleys.
I just want to get on the bike and cruise with my old man, been wanting to do it for a while in comfort, especially since we have property in york

A Harley will beat most things off the mark, low down torque on the 103's is a thing of beauty haha but and litre bike will out leg it easily in the long run... Congrats on the purchase man, I picked up a new iron at the start of the year and love it, I know it's just an 883 but it's great for smashing round town on, thunder 1250 kit or trask turbo kit are being looked at closely through lol

I got a street bob through fraisers last month. Gave me a decent price but they made it up quick on first service and pipe tune filter. It goes well and I have more fun on it than I did on my old fz1n. I wanted the breakout but wasnt gonna pay 29k and wait 3 months. You may want a better seat but mine was like a lump of jarrah

Need to get it cammed otherwise it'll be a slug making heaps of porno sounds but going no where!
Go for a Screamin eagle 204 mild cam for mid range power or screaming eagle 211 which will be a higher rpm cam that will pull all the way to limiter!
Perth HD are pretty good with knowledge however only provide mail order tunes where as frazers will include a full custom dyno tune!
Personally bought from perth HD but ended up taking it to frazers to service due to better advice and help.
If you end up camming it, get them to put a heavy duty clutch spring in it aswell to prevent any clutch slip as the plates heat up on clutch dumps for power skids!
got a mate who has a night rod and hes spent a good 10k on it and it hauls some serious ass, another mate on his s1krr was pretty much neck & neck, but like you said horses for courses. different bikes... looks the business though todd!

Although it's all good doing the dyno tune, you couldn't pay me any money to take it to frasers, if i end up camming it I will go straight to thunder tech in mundaring for all that.

So like most stories, it didn't stay stock for long
Had it lowered 1.5" and also recently relocated the number plate further up the guard.
Blacked out the rear fender supports and in the process of machining risers and making a 2 inch tank lift
