Im in the process of building a house and of course id like to get it and the contents insured. im looking for a package including things like fire, wind, flood, natural disaster damage and all those kind of things.
id like to insure the contents aswell excluding my car
what kind of policy do people have, how much is it costing them per fortnight/ month and what insurer is it through ?
thanks

$28 a month and that covers up to 10k of tools and spare parts aswell as if I loose my phone at beach sort of thing.

Same boat here and also with Shannons as they insure the contents of my shed. Combine that with all my cars insured through Shannons and discounts kick in. No other insurers at the time would insure the shed or if they did for a reasonable amount that would cover ererything.

Finished building December and out of all of them went with SGIO, very happy with them.
Even with all my cars at Shannons, home and contents was ridiculously high compared to everyone else.

used shannons for years... multi locations at the same time on policy etc, vehicles covered really well with non stuffing around when repairs needed as you have control to pick..... +1

ok ill email shannons and sgio and see what they can do price wise
I have my car and home insurance with them.
Made a home insurance claim once - felt like I was in a washing machine of rape - and took 3+ months to finalize. Would not recommend.

Allianz have been great for me - one claim (the great Perth storm of 2010) and they replaced the back fence that blew down in 3 days. No complaints.
No point telling you what I pay though cos the cost to you will vary depending on how much you are insuring the house replacement for, your contents, suburb you live in, do you have window locks, what extras you want added and so on.....
