Prefer a good brand one second hand compared to a rubbish Ebay Spec one.
Sick of poxy standard wastegate trying to launch turbo through the motor with its poxy spiking.

Chrystal the gate will be a nice mod, however the spiking problem will be helped by getting rid of the particular boost controller you have and getting something better.
Used gates are fine, but avoid the chin@ stuff. The best gates for the $ are the turbosmart products. They work, come with a variety of springs for boost pre-set, all flanges for install etc and if you ever have any drama they are made in Oz. (eg diaphragm)

Getting prices on Both the Turbosmart Street gate 38mm and the Tial 38mm,both seem to be what Im looking for.
Im avoiding china spec like the plague,I would prefer new also, but like I said a good branded one cheap will be considered also.
As for the Boost controller what would you reccomend?
Im told the electronic ones dont like GTiR's for their vacuum issues?

if going turbo smart, go for pro gate 48mm, its bigger & not much price dif from the 38.
you can find s/h progate 45mm's for about $400
they work very well indeed!
p.s. make sure you have gate venting to atmosphere..... for gating purposes haha!

Ive heard nothing but good things about the Tial 38mm gates, that's probably what I'll be looking into when the time comes.

Chrystal the vacuum issue isnt a problem for the ebc's as they only need to see the boost pressure.
The turbosmart e-boost is a nice unit combined in a boost gauge. Look into it. They work well.

Ended up with a Blitz SSBC,works nicely and doesnt spike nearly as much as the Turbosmart did, still would like to shorten the vacuum line as its about 3 feet long.
We didnt really get to test it to much on high boost as the box did a bit of weight saving and cleared 3rd gear of all its teeth 5 minutes after install :D.
Going to speak to your uncle on Cryo treating.
As for the Wastegate,I dont need it now as I have sourced one if I need it,but wont be for a while as a few decisions are being made regarding my car. Thanks people.
