Hey guys,

Done a fair bit of reading on pulling this from the vacuum hose to the boost solenoid,

Seems opinion is split 50/50 of safe and will run 1 bar, and the other half saying will spike and be dangerous.

From reading it seems the likelihood of spikes increases with breathing mods,
So far I only have dumps back exhaust 80mm and hi flow cat and panel filter.

No boost controller other than stock unit, mid April I'm swapping turbos and doing a load of engine work so a little extra turbo stress on the stickies doesn't concern me too much.

Opinions, worth pulling for a few months to keep me entertained before engine build or leave it.

If it's stock R32 GTR turbos, I'd wait until you change turbos and get your engine build... those turbos are getting on in age and don't need much provocation to let go.

When they let go they can potentially revert airflow and the broken bits can end up in the head to wreak havoc.
It sounds counter-intuitive but I can assure you it happens.

That said I had the R34 GTR turbos (also ceramic ex. wheels) and dropped the restrictor pill, cat & larger flowing exhaust all on factory tune/boost controller with no ill-effects.

Josh/Galvsport can probably give more specific advice as he's likely intimate with your setup by now :)

I wouldnt touch it knowing your long term plans with the car, can only go bad for a very small gain.
