I'm making up a harness bar for the JZX but i'm keeping ther rear seats in so i can take passengers at Powercruise and the like. The bar will mount to the child restraint points in the rear parcel shelf, as they are ADR compliant, using the specified mounting plate size in I-4.
I've read this http://docs.cams.com.au/Manual/GeneralRequirements/GQ10_Schedule_I.pdf and in regards to section 2(b) and I-4 it is a bit non descriptive.
Is the mounting plate size in I-4 just for the harness eyelets? (I have the specified size for bar mount and larger for the actual eyelet mount)
Does the mounting bolt hole have to be centred in the mount? (I have drilled mine central longditudinal but offset lateral to add some gussets)
Is there a minimum size bolt that has to be used to mount the bar? (The threads in the shelf weld nuts are 5/16)
Does the mount have to be welded to an unreinforced section?
Would the child restraint points suffice or fall under 2(d)
If anyone knows a little more that would appreciated.
Cheers, Brendon
