Ive never done this before so some pointers would be cool

PC is win 7, connected to router, which is also wireless.

Laptop is win 8, uses that wireless connection to connect to the net.

How can I copy files from pc to laptop?

Thanks!

Try looking under networks to see if you can find the PC on it.

Edit.

1. Share the folder that you want accessed, right click on folder and click "properties"

2. Click "Sharing", then click "Share".

3. On the PC that you want to transfer the file to, press the windows key and search "Network", click on it.

4. Window like that should pop up, click on your PC, and you should be able to see the folder you shared.

5. If done correctly, something like below will appear and you can see the folder you shared, then just copy from there.

6. Or alternatively, just walk over and use a thumbdrive ;P

share the drive rather than the folder

Same thing just right click the drive instead of the folder, click properties and then click sharing, then share the folder.

Fuck you are alive Blake!

And thanks - that seems awfully simple!

No worries, just check if you can access the files. If not, you have to change the sharing settings.
