Hey guys.

Just wondering if any/many of you have bought 6" lift kits recently ?
I'm chasing a 6" kit for my already 3" lifted GQ patrol due to flex problems and wheel rub with 35's.
Does anyone know of anything not too pricey I can get my hands on, a shop that will do it, or anyone wanting to swap for a less aggressive 3" kit.

Any help would be good I just can't find anywhere that's gonna charge me 2k
Or more.

Cheers

u must enter some pretty hardcore comps to need a 6" lift

on a serious note tho 3-4"+ is where the price of GQ suspension kits makes a huge jump. As you go from running mostly stock suspension arms with longer springs, shocks and caster correction bushes. When u go 4" and over u start to need adjustable panhard rods to centre the diffs, adjustable trailing arms to correct rear diff roll, drop boxes or drop arms for the front diff to correct castor and bump steer, longer brake lines, transmission spacers to bring drive shafts back to sensible angles, adjustable tie/track rods to centre steering box as well as the springs and shocks themselves.

If your 35's are rubbing either get in the guards with a hammer and massage the points its rubbing, fit wheels with bigger offset so they dont bury up in the guard so far or do a body lift.

what he said ^^^ but a 5" and 35s on a GQ looks like a 3" and 35s on a GU as they start a lot lower...

increase your budget and you will get a cheap kit to suit your needs, you need to replace and modify everything to run it nicely.

Ahk cheers mike.
I do have already adjusty pan hard rods and tie rod ends as I've just replaced them all with HD aftermarket kits due to the last kits being competely fcked.

I'm not doing comps or anything but I enjoy tough terrain with serious flex.
Will 2 inches of body lift involve just lengthening of the lines + shifter raising ?
I've never really been a fan of body lift but it might be the only option...

The body lift will dramatically help your rub issues

want serious flex? cut the guards so the tyres fit..

Buy these (yes they work) .. http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/index.php?pag_id=24

or 5link the front.. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o109/metalpnuttz/IMGP0513a-1.jpg

you dont need stupid lift dude. my swb mav (pictured) had 4inch with 37's reduction gears and a 5link front. did bobs hill easy, chop the guards, seriously its not that noticeable.

6" lift is only good for showing off how small your cock is. and its asking for a roll over especially if you dont go a wider track also.

If u want flex get longer shocks and coil retainers. Having a wheel that will drop 6-7" is a lot better than a wheel that can only go up 4" before it hits.
Have a look on suspensionstuff.com I had their coils in my GQ and the amount of down travel was amazing

If you can afford, Buy a Flexi coil kit from Suspension Stuff, with longer shocks.

Ive got the 5" Flexi coil kit with Amada extreme shocks to suit 8" rear shock, 6" front shock. Modified bumps stops so it dosent bottom out longer shocks.

Best photos i have at the moment, top photo has plenty more flex left in it.

You dont need 6" lift for 35s, i have 35s on above, and i think the 5" is maybe a touch too high, but oh well.

be warned Cops are starting to pick on 4x4's with big lifts. 50 mm (2 inch) is the legal max

your choice of anything to make up 150mm, when engineered is the max.
