Hi guys

I need some advice on my engine decision as some of you may have seen me blow my RB25 up at Collie.
I was going to get another rb25 short block and build it fully forged and use the 25 head I already had but I've always had a thing for rb26's so I sourced a rb26 on gumtree and as the story goes I got it for a unbelievable price and the bloke threw in a rb30 Short block as well...

So now I have the dilemma of selling the 25 head and 30 short block and basically have a rb26 for free and then fully forge the rb26...

Or

I build the rb26/30 fully forged and sell the 25 head?

Which route is better? I have done a lot of research but every forum I have read there are a lot of bias opinions..

Some people are saying don't go with the 30 block as the design of the block is old school and they don't like to rev very high or hard.. Stick with the 26 and build it and it will still make good power and revs much higher n doesn't mind a limter bash every now and again.

All i see on YouTube is rb26/30 builds that push incredible power and great torque..

Others are saying go with the 26/30 as they believe it's the ultimate engine combo and the 3.0L pushes out truck loads more torque than the 26...

I was never going to go down the route of the rb26/30 but seeing as I'm in this situation am I passing up a great motor combo that once built will be 1 hell of a engine? Or should I just stick with the 26?

I was pushing 410rwhp in the Rb25 and want to aim for the 600rwhp mark...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

Neither option is going to be very cheap if you want a tough and built motor....

Galvsport rb28 seems t be popular - as do 26/30 builds.

If mind bending torque is what you want then capacity will be your friend....

Drop another 25 into it and have Allstar Garage tune it , life will be good :)

That is the sensible option, he asked for the antilag option (clicky) (http://www.antilag.com/forums/showthread.php?59499-Thread-of-Pressure./page7).

Your a track car, 2wd? If your primerily doing track days, not going to put more than 500hp down and set a decent time

Better off having a lower powered, high torque and response/driveability setup as opposed to 600whp, as the turbo your going to need to get there puts you in a different league to 500hp or just below.

Im with Bart, put a 25 back in and refine the setup accordingly around it. 26/30 is big coin to be done right if your tracking it full time.

Just my humble opinion though

If it was me I'd option the extra displacement, you have a ready made option available while so many others are stroking their RB26's to achieve the same basic end outcome.
In terms of not revving high or hard; if you build it right and tune it well, it'll rev out plenty hard enough.

But it is hard to argue with the logic of the Skyline yoda above me......

Why only 600?

800 is the new 600.
