Yeah, onto it. Given that the motoring enthusiast party guy supposedly has got elected into the federal senate (last I checked), maybe, just maybe we can get something positive done instead of letting things get worse on the roads for a change.

only prob is they can raise it to 150kph and you will still get the 90% of twats do 80kph in the right lane or 20kph under as per usual

At least when you pedal to the medal you don't get pinged :)

Mentions how road limits based on 1965 standards... but how will the 1965 cars cope with higher speed limits??

Signed though, I hope it gets to at least 130km/hr. Don't see it getting to 150 from a design and safety perspective, also don't see the city changing from 80km/hr - bottlenecks will be bottlenecks regardless.

Signed, I've seen countless times, pack speeders do 120-130 on the Bunbury Highway

NT has 130km/h (on worse roads)... I fail to see why we can't do at least 130km/h on a brand new good quality road.

Signed, though I strongly think that a reform of driver training system is much more important. Nothing to do with safety at all in our current system. What's emergency braking? Oh you can parallel park - here's your licence!

signed. this is exactly whats needed, then further driver education and training. then the police should focus on shit drivers moreso than people doing the wrong thing just send them to driving school

Signed.

However we need better driver education AND enforcement of road rules rather than the easy way out of collecting speeding fines.

When I got tested I assumed I'd get asked to parallel park...nope. Licensing tests are too easy here. Pretty much just drove around, changed lanes a bit and pulled over on the side once. Lame.

I once saw a cop car pull a person over on the freeway heading to Mandurah. From what I could see the driver was doing nothing wrong...other than sitting in the right hand lane for no reason and blocking passing of a slower truck in the left lane. Made my day!
