G'day,

Im trying to find some info on going to Canada for a holiday next year with a university group.

Problem is, I have had a few driving offenses and have been told that they don't look too kindly on people with any convictions against them coming into the country.

I got into America in march this year without any problems if that helps at all?

Any help would be appreciated

cheers

When they ask about convictions on visa applications, they are refering to more serious convictions involving drug, assaults, murder, robbery etc not speeding/driving offences (maybe DUI). If you got into the US you will have no issues getting into Canada.

For just a travel Visa you'll be fine. They are only concerned about court convictions (traffic or criminal) for Working Visa. I'm going through this process atm.

I had a record and had to go through a few hoops but they still let me in. You only need a visa if you have a record or plan to work there. (Well that was the case when I went a few years ago)

All they care about is things that will show up on a National Police Certificate.

Awesome. Should be all good then but I will get a Police clearance just to make sure
