ah couldn't find this before..

What's everyones predictions for the season?

EAST
1. Heat
2. Knicks
3. Pacers

WEST

2. Clippers
3. Rockets

If going through a proxy - would logging in on phone/appleTV work?

TJ
13-09-2013, 09:41 AM
No idea

As for proxy, just google india proxy - plenty of sites.

NBA charges based on geotag of location - so by login in from "india" you get their pricing.

East - heat , pacers , bulls , Knicks , nets , pistons , cavs , wizards

West - thunder , clips , spurs , warriors , griz , rockets , nuggets , blazers.

Providing lebron stays injury free - heat to 3 peat. Bench is just too good.

6 players who went 8th or higher in draft.

Bought a pair of Rose 3 lows while in China and got to go see Derrick Rose in action.

He is quite small and not as massive as i thought he would be. He is however very fast and looks to be in pretty good shape for the upcoming season.

Even heard some chinese rapper do a rap about him. All i understood out of it was

I say D you say Rose and I say MV you say P.

Will upload a few pics later of it.

Anyone watched any of the pre season games ?

Harden / Howard combo could be deadly. Still reckon they will be over rated and wont make it to the finals.

TJ
07-10-2013, 10:02 AM
I reckon GSW with a healthy Curry and Iggy will shake a few teams.

Harden and Howard looked decent.

ben351
07-10-2013, 10:07 AM
Watched OKC game ... my god it's going to be a long season / couple of years until they lock in a good 6th man or the young kids step up

Houston look unreal ... Howard looks fit and strong ... they are going to be a force this season ... big call but if Harden can play half decent defence and stay healthy he will be the MVP ... he is a beast - I'm calling a breakout season now.

confuzion
07-10-2013, 11:03 AM
His breakout season was last year.. if the Rockets are up there in the standings this year (they will be) he has such a great chance for MVP.

TJ
07-10-2013, 11:15 AM
What they do with Asik will dictate a lot for them - he wants to be a starter, probably could be in 10 or so teams, but they need him for his solid D off the bench.

Also keen to see how Steve Jones aka Parsons goes this season.

ben351
07-10-2013, 11:57 AM
If Asik has any brains you'd be stoked to come off the bench in an organisation like the Rockets ... Having The Dream as part of the coaching / mentor staff is worth more than anything to a person trying to become a good centre in the league

Parsons is so young its unreal the potential that team has now

adrenalin

Oden just checked in for the first time for Miami.

First 2 points was a move similar to what Shaq used to do. Got the ball down low and went up for the dunk.

Looks to be good. Fingers crossed he can slowly build some time up until he is playing 15 - 20 a game.

TJ
24-10-2013, 10:53 AM
Good on him - been a long road.

Tell you what - a healthy bulls look good.

Shame Noah and Butler are not right yet.

adrenalin
24-10-2013, 11:31 AM
Bulls are looking good and so are boston which surprised me. I know once teams start playing the main guys that it will get harder for them but they may still crack the 8.

Still think both Knicks and Nets will crumble by the end.

One of the most anticipated seasons for sure. Way more talent around now and there is more contenders in the west and the east has also gotten a bit stronger.

Chicago just look ... horrible.

Seeing those rings handed up has made them lose their fucking mind

adrenalin
30-10-2013, 09:57 AM
Its called Rose being massively over rated considering it is his first proper NBA game back.

Going to take them a bit of time to get back into their groove.

Also they have a few more new pieces.

Im hoping Beasley gets some minutes in the forth. ( really want Beasley to torch a few teams this year )

ben351
30-10-2013, 10:04 AM
First round lads - relax

adrenalin
30-10-2013, 11:17 AM
No Oden or Mason Jnr ( Oden wont get proper minutes till prob after the all star break ). Same thing they did with Birdman

I thought Beasley would get minutes at start of fourth but nothing either.

TJ

Hoping this is correct, slaughtering everyone ATM with the team healthy, west finals will be a tough ride for anyone.

adrenalin
01-04-2014, 02:37 PM
Agree.

Heat will be there till the end and i think spurs will be too. Clippers are the other big fav and rockets as the wildcard.

East is pathetic in comparison.

I just hope we dont come up against Brooklyn and hope pacers deal with them.

Evilteddy

I'm thinking Toronto might be a bit of a wildcard this season.

BlueSIV
15-04-2014, 08:02 PM
Not that it means much, but just realised Memphis #8 west team would be siting #3 on east right now Haha. That really is sad. Only 1 more week!!!

Anyone going to call the championship team or east/west conference champs.

As much as I want and think they (could), I have a feeling Miami ain't gonna 3 peat. Hope I'm wrong and it all comes together over the next month.

This could be the year of upsets.

Yeah, has been great couple of days, particularly because of holidays and being able to get up early;stay home etc to watch as much as I can.

Al Jefferson had planta faciatis and my understanding is that it's not an injury per say more a condition? Being such a big guy it will always give him issues, particularly the more time he spends on his feet. Sucks for him, but heat just need to make him constantly move and let his body beat him, cause no one on the heat can at this point.

adrenalin
21-04-2014, 01:53 PM
Need Bosh + Haslem to double him when he gets ball down low. Problem is that will leave one of the shooters wide open. Its a big risk to stop more of a guaranteed 2 point than an open 3.

So, after all the craziness of first round everything seems to have come back to normal. 1-2 seeds from both conferences to go at it. Think the heat can get the job done against Indiana, without looking I believe OKC split regular season games with the spurs? Either way I reckon they are 1 of the only teams who can beat them. A lot will depend if Parker is actually healthy or not. Cause if he stays out or is injured badly and can't put in long minutes they are gonna be in trouble.

23-05-2014, 09:45 AM
Full strength OKC would put up a bit more of a fight but would still probably lose the series ... OKC's post season has left me doubting if Durant and Westbrook can work together - everyone gets on KD's dick and not taking anything away from his MVP season it was unreal and I loved watching every minute of it but the truth of it all is he plays lazy defense and gets lost a lot. Westbrook was had a horrid series against the Spurs but prior to that was nearly averaging a triple double - the kid in a beast and would be the franchise player on any other team - once he learns to slow down his play he will be an elite superstar. Both are still pretty young and players don't tend to hit their straps until their late 20's in the NBA so they are almost there.

TJ
23-05-2014, 12:28 PM
Durant and Harden has a similar thing

amazing on offence, not so much on defence.

Yes, but when you have the best finisher in the game and you either have to foul him or he scores or he passes to outside. It makes it a decision of pick your poison. When teams are able to constantly collapse on James it really hurts them due to lack of size inside.

Listening all season as to how we are going to get raped by them.

People saying LeBron isnt an elite defender is also wearing thin. Not sure if people have been watching but look at PG's shooting. Says it all.

Wade also looks much better this year then last. If Bosh shows up i think we can stick it to the spurs. However just relying on these 2 and Ray Allen as a saviour will not cut it.

Agree. After this lebron will come out pissed. If you look back at some of his game 6 \ 7 performances they have been pretty significant.

Not to fussed about spurs. We beat them last year with a banged up Wade. He seems to be back to his normal self and i think we can take it to them.

Bosh \ Haslem \ birdman on Splitter

Lewis \ Bosh \ Lebron on Duncan etc

With the level of play Norris cole has been playing and his speed will help with Tony Parker ( who is also injured ). I realistically think we can beat spurs in 6 or thunder in 5.

However have to get past Indiana first.

Watching Tim Duncan play basketball just makes me realise why I love the game so much. No flash, no fire, just intelligence and fundamentals. He may never get the accolades he deserves but he should go down as one of the greatest ever. Would love to see him win a ring and retire.

if they win it he should retire, as much as I don't want him to being a spurs fan there is no greater way to go out. Do a David Robinson who retired after the 2003 title. Manu will possibly do the same specially after just having his 3rd baby two weeks ago. Time to begin another building phase...

Tom, you have just quoted a cliche` for the sake of it without even thinking about what you are saying. He will, and has gotten accolades his whole career and will go down as one of the greatest to play the power forward position - NO QUESTIONS.

To go with his 4 championships / 3 Finals MVP's / 2 League MVP's - 20/11 career average with two other scoring options on his team for a majority of his career - he has amassed 50 wins in a season on 16 occasions (would have been 17 except there was a shorten season due to lock outs) now to put this into perspective there are only 4 franchises that have more 50 win seasons and the Spurs are one of them ... the Charlotte Bobcats and Toronto Raptors have never had a 50+-win season and Duncan’s 16 equals the combined total of the Los Angeles Clippers (2), Memphis Grizzlies (2), Brooklyn Nets (4), Golden State Warriors (4) and Minnesota Timberwolves (4). Only half of the 30 teams have won 50 games at least 10 times.

spurs in 5 or 6, better team then last year plus have home court this time, took heat 7 to push us over last year when really the spurs had it done in 6, massive huge blunders in game 6 obviously that they never should of made nothing the heat did the spurs stuffed it on their own plus heat had home court in that too.

Spurs to cap off a 62 win season (compared to heats 56) with a much deserved title and timmy and manu to retire on top.

Dunno about Bosh - hes a crab.

" oh but he can shoot the three ball " - yeah averaged 33% on 3 attempt's a game this season - It may stretch out the court a tiny bit but don't think for a second Duncan is going to leave his island under the ring and try to contest Bosh on every shot - help defense will cover that all day - Spurs are too smart for that !!

Parker may not be 100% but it didn't stop them rolling the Thunder in that last game - Pop is a genius and will have a plan.

James will have a clear advantage over Leonard but that kid is silky and learning ... Wade v Green will be a great match up too !!

Spurs in 5

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH @ Wade needing Shaq !!!! AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Wades performance in 2006 is ranked by ESPN as the all time greatest finals performance in history dude ...

It's hard to overstate how awesome Wade was in leading the Heat to their lone championship, particularly in the final four games when Miami rallied from a 2-0 deficit to stun the Mavs.

Wade started the comeback by leading the Heat back from a 13-point fourth quarter deficit in Game 3, scoring 12 points in the final 6½ minutes to send the game to OT. He also made the biggest play of the series with his crazy dribbling foray to the rim at the end of overtime in Game 5 that -- controversially -- earned a whistle from referee Bennett Salvatore and a trip to the line for the winning free throws.

For the series, Wade averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals -- and this in a slow-paced series (neither team cleared the century mark in regulation in any of the six games). His basket attacks were so deadly because the Mavs couldn't stop fouling him. Wade shot a whopping 97 free throws in the six games -- the most of any player since the merger -- including 25 in Game 5.

Overall, Wade's 33.8 PER is easily the best of any Finals performer since the merger. While it seems strange to have somebody besides Michael Jordan in the top spot, the truth is Jordan never dominated a Finals to this extent. At the time, many called Wade's performance Jordanesque. It turns out they might have been selling him short.

Be interesting to see what happens with the Heat. Don't really follow the sport any more but loved it when I was younger. It will be funny to see what happens with all their fans if they go downhill quickly after any or all of their big guns leave, glory hunter fans shit me off no matter what sport it is

Too much money to give up! Kyrie has decided to stay with the Cavs. With another solid first round pick, LBJ might have that little extra incentive to go back to Cleveland.

But I still doubt he is leaving Heat.

i dont think any of the big 3 or Ray Allen going anywhere.

Just waiting to see who we can land.

Hoping any mix of following - P Gasol \ Ariza \ Oakafor \ Deng \ Lowry \ Livingston \ Jameer Nelson \ Jordan Hill

Gasol will want to get PAID - its his last real deal

Ariza ... will want to get paid

Oakafor .. maybe not

Deng said no to a big offer from the Bulls... he will want to get PAID

Lowry ... will want to get PAID

Livingston probably not

Nelson will be ok

Hill probably not

The allure of playing in Miami with the big 2 probably isn't what it was in 2010.

I read that Lebron wants a max contract... of course it could just be a rumor but if he does I cant see all three of the Heat's players coming back.

Sigh ... we signed a washed up granger and Josh McRoberts ( least the pingpingpingping can pass and hit the 3 ). Decent bench player but not really enough to keep big 3 in tact.

Hopefully he is healthier and gains a bit more confidence again. He was fucking horrible and cringeworthy for the Clippers during playoffs.

Yea he shot 22% or something fucking horrific.

If we retain big 3 he might be able to get a bit more into rhythm as the other guys will demand a double.

If lbj and bosh walk we are completely fucked.

Ennis also killing it in summer league. I reckon he will get a spot with heat. Napier doing ok. First game was fucking awful to watch.

Apparently in the states there was a huge influx of people betting on cavs to win the championship due to all believing he is gone.

Yeah I have been smashing refresh on SBNation, Bleacher Report, and Dime mag. I am hoping Melo joins the Lakers but the more I wait the more I think he is staying with the Knicks.

I was originally very confident LBJ will stay with Miami but since the start of the year I thought Bosh will leave... It appears both might leave now. Rockets offer is too good to pass up for Bosh IMO. Cav's have a pretty decent lineup nowadays and LBJ will feel right at home. Ignoring the fact his home supporters burned his Jersey and pretty much badmouthed and villainized him for the entire period he was gone.

I found it funny in scouting report they mentioned Napier has problems with turnovers... Then during the first game against Boston he turned the ball over so much I started swearing at the screen. I will give him benefit of the doubt that it was just early nerves.

Granger has gone from being the guy who should of been Paul George to in ruins quickly. Hope he can turn it around.

Summer league means nothing really.

Why the hell would Melo want LA other than big city fame?

Kobe and him are both ball hungry - will end well. Don't even know if Kobe will be who he was when he returns. A broken Nash who wont leave so he gets paid.

Gasol... isn't who he was.

If he genuinely wants to win he will go elsewhere.

Granger was injury prone again for the clips. Hoping he can sort it out. His problem is he still thinks he is the man. He will learn otherwise pretty quick.

Summer league = Gives rookies and 1st year playing time to see if they will earn their place on the team. Just cause they earn it doesnt mean they will get minutes. Ennis \ Napier will make team.

Melo = staying a knick.

Gasol = Still putting solid numbers up. He will get the money he wants. I dont think he cares about rings anymore.

Summer league is good to see fundamental skills. Of course it's not NBA caliber, but it is a minor indicator. For example the rooks that played in NBA already you can see them shine in Summer league, lets see the first round picks compare to them.

You pretty much said it yourself why Melo would possibly go to LA. Melo needs the big city, he left Denver partially for this reason. He is building a brand for himself. He needs the big city franchise to help build his brand. He has his interest in fashion i.e. he is a Co-Founder of Haute Time. Also his wife LaLa also needs big city. She is also a diva/celeb who is involved with fashion and Hollywood.

Who says Lakers can't turn it around and fight for a championship? Nobody is certain. Unless you know someone with inside info in the NBA?

Wojnarowski - This guy is the closest to leaking stuff that is true most of the time.

Lakers arent doing shit. Melo aint going to lakers. I think they will just tank this season and try and lure some of the big FA's next year.

TJ
08-07-2014, 11:29 AM
Given the West, it is highly unlikely that LA will contend next year - Clips/GSW/Spurs/Thunder are all very very good.

Phoenix might land a free agent or two to move them forward.

Love could end up somewhere which will change things again.

Kobe is an unknown atm. He is a warrior etc, but father time waits for no one, with the exception of Timmy Duncan, he has an extended lease deal.

Nash admitted he is hanging around to get paid - healthy or not.

As it sits right now, they don't have a coach or a contending team.

Nigga can dream. I am still hoping for a miracle. Watching LAL last year was painful but they are still my (West) #1. Heat (East) #2. Nuggets #3 (I just follow whichever team ma negus Nate Robinson is on).

LAL can't keep sitting around playing the waiting game. There aren't much coach options left. Our current and potential free agents are getting signed elsewhere left right and center. That's why yes or no I just want Melo to make up his fucking mind.

TJ
08-07-2014, 11:59 AM
Yeah, watched them get smashed by Spurs at LA - first week of the season, people expected Kobe to roll in and all would be good..

Melo staying at NY I reckon...

Lebron is the starters gun on just about everything though... once he makes a 'decision'the rest of the dominoes will fall!

Cavs have got the space now after their offload to BKN/Boston which I quite enjoyed! Here's hoping Lebron goes back home and Bosh heads to Houston while Miami pale to insignificance again! ;)

I hope the opposite.

It has always been the lakers or celtics. Good to see other organisations getting rings.

Last week i was 99% sure he was staying. Now im prob 55% sure.

If Gasol goes to spurs like its rumoured that is going to be dam scary.

TJ

Houston with Bosh Howard and Harden would be scary too.

Bosh could play BF (bitch forward) and leave Howard to defend and rebound
