If ever there was a king of oxygen wasting pieces of shit, Mitchell Walsh McDonald is it.

In September last year, Walsh-McDonald was granted an extraordinary licence despite his horror track record on the road, which includes knocking down and killing schoolgirl Jess Meehan exactly 10 years ago today. He had a blood-alcohol reading (BAC) of 0.165 at the time.

The court was told today he’s been caught driving under suspension six times since 2008 and caught driving with a BAC above 0.08 four times.

Walsh-McDonald, 29, faced four charges in Perth Magistrates Court today, including two breaches of his extraordinary driver's licence and driving with a blood-alcohol content above 0.08 per cent.

This piece if shit obviously lacks any real intelligence and deserves to rot in a prison cell.

But no, all he gets is: For the two breaches of the extraordinary drivers licence Walsh-McDonald was fined a total of $1300 and his extraordinary licence cancelled. For the drink driving charge he was fined $1250 and disqualified from driving for two years. He was fined $300 for using his mobile phone whilst driving.

Someone needs to find this pingpingpingping and put a bullet through his fucking head.

I don't know why I keep clicking on these threads, all they do is piss me off. How pathetic and out of touch can a judge be to not send this sack of shit to jail?

Seems a young girls life is worth less than doing burnouts these days.

Fkn unbelievable.
What is it with serial drink drivers (seemingly) always getting their licence back somehow yet others with lesser offences seem to get the book thrown at them.
Just crazy that they gave him an extraordinary lic after pretty much 1 or 2 DD offences every year for the past 5 years, let alone let him keep it after the first time he was caught drink driving on it.

...I actually used to play footy with Mitch from 15s through 17s, was a good kid. Havent seen him since, obviously has a few issues now.

When will the Government legislate serious penalties to repeat drink drivers and those continually caught driving while banned? It's beyond the realm of comprehension that you can lose your car on the spot for 28 days for a chirp of the tyres, go to court and face at least 6 months banned from driving and potentially lose your job or worse while you're at it, yet (sometimes not even!) sober up and drive home not long after the confirmation test.

This guy in particular has had too many chances and needs serious jail time to reflect upon his choices.

0.00 should be the law.

Wont make a difference if the punishment itself isnt enforced. The punishment for driving whilst disqualified suspended etc should be an immediate jail sentence, no hearing, no appeal, Min. 2 years or more. Do not pass Go!

Got to put my hand on my heart and think the amount of times ive opened the throttle hard I haven't come unstuck....

How many people here have had their licence disqualified not for pissy...

Not sure what the answer is but I do feel for those with loses.

cops can turn up to duty at 0.02. Figure that...thats their policy. Commissioner has been hammered for it but they wont change it.

Meanwhile I had to blow 0.00 everyday working FIFO.

That is the problem though, even 0.05 isn't enforced enough, just need police to start doing their job...

Continuing on from my glorious high horse earlier just to clarify something; I love my bourbon and summer beers and although I never thought I drove drunk, I once blew 0.049 BAC. It really brought home just how little myself personally had to drink to register that close to the limit, even though I didn't even feel tipsy or have a buzz going. My mate said the look on my face after we drove away from the RBT was priceless, but I learnt very valuable information and now I will not drive after even a single drink.

When he does it again and kills someone the judge should be done for manslaughter.

That isn't all that far off what was laid against a mate of mine for an aledged offence leading to reckless charges being pursued. Fucking disgusting! only difference is about 1 grand and 6mths to 1 year

The cops are doing the job. It is the court system that is the problem

I still hear plenty of stories that blokes get told to take a walk and grab a drink (of water) and stick to the back streets...

I highly doubt it as the rbt units have a memory and is downloaded. So cop would be fucked if he did that

What a disgrace our justice system is when pingpingpingpings like this don't end up in jail!

YES. Send the accountability further up the chain in extreme cases like this where the magistrate was clearly stupid.

Edit - are they not allowed to lock someone up for driving disqualified/drunk etc? Only hand out fines and more useless bans?

I believe Gav is currently serving a longer licence suspension and has paid more fines, and all he did was a few burnouts.

Therefore, murder < burnouts.

But it wasn't his fault? He felt like he had to drive his co workers home after having a few drinks.

Baffling. My neighbour was disqualified from driving for life maybe about 20 years ago for repeat drink driving. He should have killed someone, then he'd at least be able to drive to work instead of riding the pushy.

Sad thing is its not just driving offences that our judicial doesnt enforce, our system in general is flawed.

difference is that kid was actually remorseful & there is a very slim chance of him doing something like that again

this muppet is a several times repeat offender

If that Gav guy is bored, he should write some nice letters to all the news agency's expressing concern for the lack of common sense when the two situations are compared side by side.
