THREAD BUMP!
Mrs is looking to sell/trade-in her 2005 Mazda 2 Hatchback 5 Door Auto for a 2010+ Rav4 4x4 in the $15-$18k range.
So who works at a dealership and has something suitable in stock?
Open to suggestions to fit the same criteria - 2010+, less than 100,000kms preferred, 4x4. Nothing Prado sized.
Would love a 3 door Pajero (my preference) but fuck-all available at the moment.
Cheers!

Hoping to speak to someone before the old man in his infinite wisdom and old age buys something he will regret (happens every time so far)Oh man, do I hear that.
Why do you have to go to Perth to find a car there's perfectly good second-hand dealerships down here, and cars are more reliable if bought from a yard than through private

Lol.... Information such as if they're chasing a new or used car and what make/model they would like to buy would be useful... There's a member who works at Ferarri as well as another member who works at ford...

Updated.
New/Used - Ford/Toyota/Nissan/Mitsubishi/Hyundai.
Sibling is looking $15-$18k.
Girlfriend is looking $4-$5k.
4-5k - go to abeerdeen auctions on a wed and find the best you can - aint nobody going to be busting out huge discounts at a dealer in that range, or buy private.
I have worked in several dealerships around Perth for a few years mate, and still have a few contacts. For your sister in that price range, I'd recommend a brand new i30 personally (and can get someone to look after you in a Hyundai dealership if you like). Good little cars, good warranty, fixed price servicing, blah blah... got someone in a Hyundai dealership that can look after you if you like.
For your girlfriend, on a budget of $5k I'd recommend Gumtree. A used car purchased from a little dealer at $5k would be worth $3k on the private market.

GF is looking through gumtree/quokka/carsales etc. to try buy private as she decided to lower her budget to $4-$5k. She was initially looking higher.
ola - mind passing on a contact number/dealer location & name? Old man will call and get some details and organise a time to head down and have a look. :)
Cheers!

Thanks mate! Will keep it in mind in future, last few cars the old man has bought have been from Big Rock actually anyway.
Only thing is, I just found out that the old man went and bought himself a Ford Focus tonight while I was at the gym - in a seemingly rushed decision just to get it over and done with, so I'm looking forward to seeing if the car has any issues and his whinging due to this. :)
He has a tendency to ask something to be done (like this, see if anyone knows anyone) - then just go ahead and do whatever he wants anyway, says "fuck it" and then bitches and moans later down the track hahaha

if you go to northside hit up vahoumis. If you dont buy a car off him he will still make you piss yourself laughing or hit on your mum

Rav 4s have to be the worst car I have ever driven. Friend had one as a company car and it was fucking shocking huge blind spot, gutless, dodgy seat belts, under powered and generally crap. We had a hire one up Broome a couple years back I ended up nearly getting it bogged out Whilley Creek, started to bog down and traction control that I couldnt turn off prevented me from keeping teh wheels turning to get out of the sand.

Open to other suggestions of something similar?
Criteria: 2010+, $15-$18k (with potential trade in of the 05 Mazda 2 5 door auto hatch), preferably less than 100,000kms, seems we can pick up a 4x4 Rav4 with anywhere from 34,XXX to 90,XXX at the moment within that price range.

I had an 02 3 door myself in manual for a while, thought it was great. Parents had a 1997 5 door before that.
The 2010/2011 is before this new model which looks like a Corolla on stilts, they don't seem that great.
Test drove a 2010 and 2011 last night and they seemed awesome, cruisey, easy to maneouvre - don't mind them myself.
I now sell new Toyotas, will PM you my details.
Thanks mate!
Rav 4 is fine as a soft reader. I never had an issue with them. Resale is great, and Toyota reliability.
I doubt she cares of its ability off road.
The sibling and the girlfriend are looking for a car each. No pictures of either.
Looking to speak to someone who works at a dealership that can possibly look after both, do a better deal and help them out.
I recall seeing some posts ages ago where people mentioned they worked at a dealer.
Any recommendations? Both will be small cars, one budget less than the other.
Hoping to speak to someone before the old man in his infinite wisdom and old age buys something he will regret (happens every time so far) and the girlfriend finds something she won't complain to me about later.
Cars in the Toyota/Ford/Nissan/Mitsubishi/Hyundai small car range is what we are looking at, new/used.
Kind regards,

Definitely doesn't, it's more for resale and the occasional beach sand drive (rare occurrence anyway)

Trying to go newer to be honest, want to keep something for about 5 or so years.
Every time I've had an older car the garage has clogged up with parts, trying to de-clutter so I can get stuck into the Ford. Have enough Supra and bike stuff in the garage now and adding another older car will eventually mean I'll be putting her car parts in the garage too and that's a no deal for me.
Plus, she's set on a Rav4 at the moment. Thanks for the offer though!
What if throw in a car trailer ;)

My ex had a new Suzuki Grand Vitara a few years back. We were shopping around for things in that market and was the preference over the Rav4, CRV etc
