After a nice post-Racewars Hiatus we're back on deck and organising our next event.

The event will be as follows:

Location: Collie Motorplex
Date: Saturday, August 3rd, 2013.
Format: Untimed Laps and Cruise Sessions

Untimed Laps:
These will be run with the following format - 1 out lap, 3 flying laps, 1 in lap. 6 cars out at a time.
We recommend installing a timing app on your smartphone

You will not be allowed to do a standing-still burnout (if we see you on the brake on the spot, you will be kicked out immediately), nor will you be allowed to drift at any stage. This is not negotiable.

To enter, simply transfer $145 into the account below and use your username as the referral with "CM" as the preface. For example, mine would be "CM-Brockas".

Yes, but there will be a $20 'passenger sign-on fee'.

You will also need to have the same safety gear as the driver (helmet, long sleeves / pants) and be over 18.

i was finding that if i tried to wind 3rd gear out on the back straight i'd get wheel spin right at the kink, so was short shifting instead. wasnt keen on binning the car.

was getting between 168-178kph depending on how hard i kept my foot into it

First attempt at track time in the emo. Great day, learnt a lot, had a ball, mixed it with an awesome crew and even managed to get faster as my seat time progressed. Using onboard racepack gps managed a best of 50.0xx for the day. Averaging 50.60's. Pretty happy with the setup. First time running race suit, helmet, intercom, neck restraint. So much to take in but well worth the trip. Word has it a bigger and better event is earmarked for antilag and collie.....fingers crossed it comes to fruition!

Many thanks to Brockas for organising.

p.s. thanks to buckets for use of the gopro, first time with one of those nifty devices :D

Thanks to everyone that was involved to make this happen, Paul, Erin, Adrian, Lachlan, Joel, Bart sorry if I missed anyone cheers guys!

Big thank you to everyone that helped out with my car, getting it ready, getting it to Collie and to try and diagnose the problem Saturday arvo. Unfortunately nothing we could fix at the track. Will be back for the next one. Hopefully the car runs long enough to use up a couple sets of skid tyres!

Sadly you are correct, I may need to acquire one before the next Supercruise along with some barmaids;). I appreciate that you didn't mention that we bought fire wood...if word got out in town I fear we may be outcast.

But King Smaktalk had the chocks out and nothing could hold him back...he ripped more skids than I have strokes on a round of golf... and he could still drive his car onto the trailer faultless!

Will upload a pic tomorrow of the street invasion, as expected the cop that lives 2 doors down parked the paddy out front as a reminder! I appreciate the lack of skids!

Quite tail happy for an Emo. Very impressive JME.

Nice vid there Jamie. Certainly got the back end out a few times.

It actually feels really stable, just a tad loose in the tail. Which is a lot of fun. Could soften the bum a tad to get it spot on neutral but wheres the fun in that? I fully understand now why emo's are a popular competition weapon. Relatively easy to extract a lot from and very forgiving to punt.

Also forget to mention - MASSIVE THANKS to the volunteers who helped on the day. These days wouldn't run without your amazing generosity, thanks to you all for letting us get out there and have some fun!

Was a great day. We will run another soon I just have to work out if the next one can be a full weekend or if it has to be a 1 day thing only. We'll try to get access to the drag strip out the back as well.

I only managed to successfully time one lap and that was a 50.8, but definitely wasn't my fastest of the day. Something about the 35 screws with GPS units for some reason and I couldn't get my RaceChrono program to work properly.

Roof metal sometimes plays funny buggers with GPS, if you get a bluetooth one it's much better to race tape it onto a external surface

Unfortunatly its a defi and stock gauge.

You probably have 3 options...

Screws in back of oil pump have come loose.
Cracked the oil pump
Popped out a oil plug in the crank

All 3 are motor out and most likely rebuild time :(
