As i was sitting around saturday afternoon drowning my sorrows in beer at the loss handed to us by the Sydney Ducks ... i got to thinking that us west coast fans have alot in common with america ... let me show you ....

Was there tears where u were? We had tears, and then a mates dad fall outof the car on arrival home and fall to the ground hysterical. Oh the drama.

Good day of drinking none the less.

The TV was quickly turned off at the final siren. I'm suprised it was still working though at fulltime with the amount of can's and double pluggers hurled across the garage at it! hahaha

personally if there aint rules instated soon to stop teams from flooding i will stop watching footy ... my blood pressure is through the roof watching games like that hahah .... in basketball they stopped teams from letting there taller players set up camp in the keyway by introducing the three second rule ... why cant they say that a team must have at least two players in there offensive fifty at all times ... or the full forward must stay in the fifty if there are no other players in there something to stop teams from crowding the opposing teams fifty and preventing a free flowing game

Always next year :( Still cant beleive how close it was. It was right there..all we had to do was catch the fkn thing :(
We turned off the TV after the match, i smashed my phone in frustation and forgot all about season 2005 :) Note: Crownies had a little to do with this.

Yeah was furious about that picture. It was right there infront of everyone, but faggot umpire Mclaren didnt do a thing about it.
Sounding like a whinger, but only IF Banfeilds kick was a goal and didnt hit the post, only IF Gardiner didnt miss those two goals :(
On the bright side of things, how about the antics from Chicky infront of Oloughlan. Made him miss 3 goals from doing handstands lol, what a legend!

face it, sydney only lost to the eagles in round 1 of the finals because of the umpires (who said SORRY the next day and admitted they stuffed up bigtime). and that was in subiaco too. among other things.

and dont give me this 'mcg is pretty much home ground for sydney', its not, sydney still flew there, and yes although most of victoria adopted the swans as the team they wanted to win, half the ****s just sat there at the game and didnt really bother cheering. sure there were more sydney fans, but not by THAT much...

barry hall is good at what he does because he knows exactly how much he can push the limits of the other players and the umpires without getting done for it. plus, the **** he ****ing cops from every player on the other team off camera throughout the entire game, some of the ****s ****ing deserve it!!!

leo barry outplayed gardiner in every way, it wasnt just gardiner playing ****, leo barry played an awsome game. especially considering he played with a triple fractured cheekbone.

sydneys game was defensive yes, but thats how they managed to win it, they ensured that every time the eagles started to get on a run, their last line of defence kicked in and saved the swans. and yea they did flood the back line towards the end of the game, WHO ****ING WOULDNT, dont tell me the eagles wouldnt have done the same! and either way, how many times did olouhglin mark it within 50, then instead of taking his sweet ass time, lining up, and taking a shot, he played on, in an effort to get sydney on a run.

also it didnt matter if barry hall played or not, the result would have been the same, the eagles do a brilliant job of shutting him down and keeping him contained.

****, i could go on all day if you want, chik did well at outting oloughlin off, but also remember, oloughlin has some pretty bad ligament damage in his knee, half the reason he kept playing on in the last quarter.

both teams had there chances, swans missed at LEAST 3 shots they kicked without problems against st kilda the week before, thats part of the game, pressure got to them.

eagles even had an extra week of rest durin the finals, so sydney had a harder build up to the game. the swans led at every change, won in the majority of the stats too, what does that say? and finally for now, the fact that the swans peaked their season at the perfect moment, their final 4 games, whereas the eagles peaked leading up to the finals.

stop being such bad sports, it was a great game, the closest grand final since the tie about 30 years ago, be proud of it! but in the end sydney wanted it more, fought harder, and played the more strategic, better game, thats why they won.

Hall should get 8 weeks for that tackle on Wirra. If you ever needed to define the word ****, Barry Hall is the perfect answer. Flooding is disgusting. A Saints vs Eagles final would of been alot better. at least more than 15 goals would of been kicked.

Gaspar shouldnt of played either.

I will be renewing my WCE membership in 06. this playing group will be around and together for a very long time. However, i'd like to see Fevola in WCE colors for a while for a giggle.

barry hall shuld of NOT been playing and thats a fact. the trib-anal went soft on him cause it was a grandfinal and plus barry gave them all head (dont tell anyone). tell me this, how does all the other players get 1 week for a minor hit and barry gets 0 for a hit that was NOT a love tap. the hit on the saints player was a decent hit and matty dosnt act, cause he isnt a panzi. barry needs to cheat to get a kick cause he suks.

Sydney flood so badly. like wtf. its just not football. its not called footy wen they do that. Its called a mass orgy in the 50 meter arc!!! its lyk sumone has jus dropped a suitcase wit 500 000 in it and they all swarm like a seagul to a chip. it makes for a slow boring match plus u get heaps of bounces cause there is too many players around the ball.

Lastly, im sure everyone heard the commentators and saw the umpires. both were fukn disgraceful. the umpiring was so ****. everything went sydney's way wen the offences were even, the umpires must of been getting paid off 4 sure. and the commentators were so fukin stupid. they didnt even know the players names and it was anti eagles to the max. i rang up the tv channel and put in a complaint about the commentators cause the shuld get shot. Robert Walls watch your bak ****!!!

eagles got 13 free's, sydney got 12 free's, i don't see how thats unfair to the eagles cause they got more...

wirripunda got high tackled by barry hall, then went to play on advantage and stuffed up, he would have got the free if he didn't play on.

what did the commentators say? being at the game i didn't really hear them :p

first and formost, you have multicoloured balls?!

what you might not have seen ben is that when the eagles were up in the final quarter, they also flooded their back line, like every single damn team does in that situation...

if you watched the eagles v crows game the week before you would have seen that they compared barry halls hit to a number of other hits that got off in the season, all which were much the same, its just the camera angle on hall picked it up better.

sydney had to work a hell of a lot harder to get to the grand final after the umpires said SORRY after finals round 1, i dont see the umpires saying sorry to the eagles after the grand final, wonder why...

eagles had plenty of chances, except, unlike Sydney, they didnt take advantage of them. The umpiring was ****house for BOTH teams also.

I was supporting the Eagles on the weekend, but Sydney definately wanted it more....

John Worsfold himself said he preferred to play against Barry Hall, making it more of a challenge, so supporters whinging that he shouldnt have played etc etc is not an issue, the Eagles had a week to prepare for Barry Hall and Sydney and they came up short.

fraiser gerhig got two weeks for barely touching cloake in the stomach .... hall sucker punches maguire in the guts ... the kid goes down the two minutes to catch his breath it WAS behind play and hall kicks a goal ... i admit gaspar shouldnt have played either but hall playing was the biggest joke of the year ... eagles dont flood and didnt flood the entire finals series ... but hey if you proud of the victory handed to you then by all means gloat about it cos im sorry to tell you but yous be waiting another 37 years to win again hahahahahahahahahah eventually teams will learn to play the flood ... chip around instead of bombing it in to a 14 on 3 pack mark. just look at the stats eagles had way more of the ball but couldnt convert cos there forward fifty was CROWDED WITH SWANS even barry hall their full forward was down there ... he spent more time in our fifty than he did in his own haha nevermind

I agree Barry Hall shouldnt have played, but as the old saying goes, 1 player doesnt take control and win a game, and this is evident has the best player on the ground was from the losing team, Chris Judd.

The Eagles blew too many chances early and in the end, regardless of the defensive setups, the Sydney Swans out-played the Eagles and deserved to win.

The problem with flooding is it actually wins games. Dennis Pagan and the Kangaroos won two grand finals and played in 6 preliminary finals playing pagans paddock....Which was flooding and isolating Carey(arguably the greatest forward of all time). Swans will be the exact same. Port won premiership last year using flooding swans this year....Its the way it is. And Dennis Pagan is an absolute footy genius..(im a kangaroos supporter so im a little biased)

But I think there should be some kind rule preventing it as it is ugly to watch

if the eagles actually flooded they would dam near be invincible hey ... flood the back line use wirrapunda to scoop up the crumbs then pin point one of the midfeilders then hands off to another running midfeilder preferably judd who can put it well over the fence on the run from beyond fifty ... **** we would have the top 5 in the coleman medal too hahaha.
one thing i have noticed is that when ever judd kicks on the run from beyond fifty the fuker ALWAYS puts it well into the crowd hey thats a massive kick... on the run aswell
