Hi guys,

Looking at getting some earphones or headphones for the gym and running.

Anyone got some recommendations?

Some of the ones I am looking at:
Shure SE215 (http://www.shure.com/americas/products/earphones-headphones/se-earphones/se215-sound-isolating-earphones)
Sennheiser CX680i
Denon Exercise Freak AH-W150 (http://usa.denon.com/us/product/pages/productlanding.aspx?catid=exercisefreak(denonna))
Meelec m6 (http://www.meelec.com/M6_Series_earphones_s/246.htm)
Planktronics 903+ (http://www.plantronics.com/au/product/backbeat-903-plus)

I used to gym with my Sennheiser IE7 until I snapped the cord. I loved them but being a gym scenario I have already killed my Etymotic HF5 and my Etymotic ER4 before too and I had enough of the fragile shit.

I now rock a pair of Shure SE215 limited editions. I recommend you try to get the limited editions if you could. The bass drivers are tuned a bit deeper to suit "fuck it lets lift this shit" music. The cord is replaceable and tough as shit. I am a rough pingpingpingping and I am yet to kill this pair.

As above, I went with the JayBird JF3s. The only downside I can possibly think of is it's recommended to have your phone/MP3 player quite close (think arm-band); not a big deal for me as I previously always wore an arm-band anyway, I just wanted to get rid of cable clutter.

Sound quality is superb for wireless earphones - not overly bassy, but not underwhelming either.
Fitment is perfect - three sets of buds and three sets of soft silicone wedges makes it nigh impossible for them not to fit snug and secure.
Bluetooth pairing was very quick and easy.

You'll also see a post shortly after mine in the above link from Mike who has the 903+, and rates them very poorly.

Nice. Are they the blue limited editions? I found a set on Amazon but they are set at USD$150+shipping.

Ah ok. 903+ are out of the list then. The Shure 215's look pretty decent though. I'l have to look into it! Where did you order yours from?

Bought mine from Expansys for about $130ish, but they can be had for much cheaper out of the US via eBay, etc.

Yeah special edition blue. I bought mine for $900HKD when they came out. Proof I am not always a pingpingpingping and can be helpful at times. Here is something local at a decent price.

Then get them to price match this for ultimate jew status.

I use Bose MIE2i's, great for changing the song if you use iphone/ipod.

Also the rubber construction holds the earpieces in you ears during running, whilst also acting as a barrier against sweat/water.
Have held up against 3 years or heavy use at gym and otherwise.

Okay, ordered some Shure 215s. Will see how they go.

Thanks Sam and everyone else for your input :)

Heaps of people seem to be using bluetooth headsets at the gym I frequent. Have yet to catch a name for that pair though. Corded ones are becoming a bit of a PITA.
