Hey guys I'm chasing some ally plate, needs to be about 15-20mm thick, off cuts are fine but need some workable surface are to them, ideally 400-500 square would be great, any one know where I could get some? Few places want heroin spec prices for massive sheets as obviously it's not something they have lying around... Who ever can help may receive a gift at the end of it all if deemed appropriate...
Thanks friends!! :D

Honestly, find a friend that works at austal ships or another big boat building joint and exchange alcohol

I have 3 friends... None of them work at a shipping building yard haha.... I'm more than happy to pay for it, I just don't wanna pay a few grand for a massive slab of it

Might go no where but tried calling around some metal fab places? Kings Metal, Auspole, maybe even a scrap yard like Auscon or something?

15mm thick is pretty big for alli, I have a mate that builds boats and the best he has laying around is 6mm.
Are you making an adaptor plate?

Capral will be your best bet for thick ally, All the stuff we normally use is around 6mm max thickness

Try Robert Cameron in burswood. Got a few chunky bits of aluminium from them for work at a reasonable price a few years ago.
