Is anyone from here entering this season? Looks like they have changed the day to Sunday and are doing different track layouts on the same day.

As far as I am aware they did a mid year all-dayer like this last year as a break between the season but they are not changing from the usual Thursday night later in the year.

I have done one and it was great, was planning on getting some better street tyres (can't afford rcomps like everyone else runs) but can't afford to get them before the one this month. I'm sure I will see you down there on the usual Thursday night events at the end of the year though.

I did my first rally sprint on street tyres and had a ball. (bit hairy at times but lots of fun). Then the next one i did was on R comps and yellow stuff pads and dropped about 15 seconds a lap. Hopefully all the sprints line up with my breaks. Lil Regie sounds like he might bring his Taxi out for a run also.

Shit 15 seconds is epic! Was that the same course or in reverse?

reverse. But my confidence levels increased a fair bit too. Its amazing how far you can push the R comps before they lock up.

Will enter if/when I can get my clutch fixed up. The mid-year Sunday event is great. Done the last two years and can recommend. Bit easier for new comers too since you can see where you should be going.

I'm in the Motorkhana too Julian haha.
Do a rally sprint run, punch it over the the khana, get Ken Blocky for a couple courses, run back for another rally sprint run... Repeat 6 times :)
Will run street tyres first half a day, then r-comps the second.
Epic day!

Great plan Alex! Can't get enough action in one day!
I leave the Khana glory for you seeing as my last attempt proved to be even sillier than I'd imagined.

You are a braver man than I, Jamie. I am doing a shakedown on Thurs arvo at AHG and then the Sunday MC sprint. That way there is nothing to hit should something fall off.

Fark Julian, Growwwl, how much of a beating did that thing take and for how many years!

AHG - that's the wuss way out! Everyone knows that fist time out you need to do rallysprint! Who am I paying out on here BTW?

GRROWL tried to kill me most of the time; so I figure giving it a good beating was fair retaliation! Besides, the guy who brought it off me hurt it much, much more, so much so that it's been sulking in the corner for the past two or so years after one rallysprint beating too many. Would love to see it out and sideways again.

Entered the rally sprint but going to steer clear of the motorkhana.

Last handbrake motorkhana spec turn I remember completing emptied the contents of my gearbox and transfer case all over the ground :(

...and Franz, Steph and the Listers spent nearly an hour sweeping! :)

I'll be there, co-driving for Dieter and running as a course when required. McRae Motorsport will also be down there giving rides with their Polaris side by side thingys!

What are these handbrake thingys you speak of?

Must try find time to go for Polaris ride. Missed out last year.

Had a blast in the evo. First time out in a loooong time. Had my Dad as co-driver................first time he's ever sat as passenger driven in anger let alone in a prepped race car. He just needs to learn how to read pace notes in two weeks before targa west :-P

Had a great time at Rallysprint, managed some respectable times and loads of room for improvement.

Yeah, as above, great day. Was going toe to toe for 2WD honours in the morning, but couldn't match Steve in his Elise in the afternoon course. He was well on it! I'm a loser, but happy with that as we made it through without any issues and got some great Go-Pro footage from all sorts of angles. Will try to get some online. Very little carnage too, which was good. Jason's R31 kerbed a couple of rims which ended his day early, pity. Also, Turboesky fully ventilated his block, but was considerate enough not to dump it all on the fastest sweeper (160 km/h plus!) where he pulled off the track.

Your Emo was looking the goods Jamie and you're right to learn as you go and pick up time each run on these courses. They're just too nasty if you confuse ambition with talent. Not like you forget how to drive, it just takes seat time and confidence with car setup to get right back up the pointy end.

Yep a few touched up some kerbs and flat spotted a some tyres but no major incidents that I'm aware of. Loved the section under the tunnel with this layout. Easily flat out in one direction and maybe in the other direction too, but I was too much of wuss and lifted each time. The car park section during the second set of stages hurt the big cars. We caught a vette on our last run that had to practically crawl through that section.

At glance the entry list seemed to show quite a few new names and cars which was good to see.

I now have a valid reason to fit a cosworth.

Yeah, I'm with MGR in loving the flowing under the bridge section. Nowhere near flatout for me through there though. It was amazing to see you nail full throttle well before the apex of a corner with often a wheel off the deck. And your car takes it! Helps me understand why you get 10 seconds on me per run... Also didn't cope too well with the super tight carpark turn at the fence in the arvo. My co-driver was saying I braked too early for it. Well, yes, I did, and I'm good with that. No power steer makes it a handful to get around so slowly does it. Particularly after looking at what Jason did to his rims there earlier in the day.

Cosworth for Turboesky - yes, yes, yes! Make a win out of a lose. Easy when it's not my money...

Just got the footage of my on-car Go-Pro dropped off. Looks great, will share. Damn you work computer blocking my viewing pleasure of MGR's vids.

PS - Brockas and Simon, you need to get along to one of these. Pity you'll have to do it a night now!

Turn your headlights on and you can see where you're going :P I did the last 2 rounds in my 34 and it was still a fun event .

The night time course layout is different and doesn't have the ridiculously tight car park sections or the high speed sweeper past the concrete blocks. Just pick and choose where to push and where to squeeze the brakes a bit earlier. Drive at 80% near the concrete and save your demon braking for places like the end of the drag strip.

Although I prefer yesterdays course layout I like the Thursday evening event format more. Only take a handful of hours out of your week and keeps the weekend completely free.

Headlights on or not I can't see fuck all in the dark regardless. I'll still give it a go though, it looks like too much fun to not have a go.

I'm keen to see 200MPH's footage !

I did a couple of the 2011/2012 season in my s13 can vouch for it being an awsome setup altho a bit daunting with shit spec headlights, gonna try and dummy up a small light bar for a bit of extra light but I think everyone who is keen should have a go. what better place to have a crack at scaring the shit outta the missus or ya old man or even one of ya mates while they sit in the co-drivers seat. Like MGR said as long as you drive within your limits then you shouldnt have to worry about the concrete

I went flat in fourth on my last run in the afternoon under the bridge - yeah not doing that again! Was real thread the needle stuff that left very very very little margin of error!
