Looking at getting into this level of aquatic life, just wondering who on here has either previous experience or has awesome setups already growing?
Sorry but not really interested in Moby the goldfish and how he survied the journey from the fish bowl to the toilet bowl, just all about the salt water :)
Post up pics of you set ups with sizes and what types of plant/coral/fish and animals you have
Here is my mates setup, he has a 4ft by 4ft set up with LED lighting and some killer coral and fish.

Check out this link http://www.masa.asn.au/masa/ heaps of shit on there.
Love the look of them, can get some great looking fish and coral but I'm worried about the $$ and maintenance so I just stick with the fresh water.

Pick an Aquarium shop and stick with them. I get all my stuff from Pet Magic in cannington and use all their advice ad my tank is sweet. The other shop I'd recommend is vebas in Oconnor, different shops told us to do different things so just stick with the one. Lots of patience setting it up but now I just so a water change every 2 weeks.

Recently gone freshwater... want to go marine, but I've got waaay too many hobbies on the go already and killed my fish too easily.
I'm not meant to take care of living things.

We first put water in it February last year. Live rock went in a week after that, then things got exciting. The amount of life in the rocks was incredible, so much crazy shit in there. Then as expected the tank turned to shit, water went green all the life died (this is normal!) The circle of tank life kept going and new stuff started appearing in and around the rock and the water turned crystal clear. We didnt put fish in it till about 10 weeks after the rock going in. Have had a few deaths from fish eating other fish but its all good now.

EAD!
Have had 6-7 different setups. Still have my full salt tank setup emptied out and ready for the new house
I use the guys @ Seaview Aquariums on Wanneroo Road, have done so for years. Two brothers own/run the shop and have a mind boggling amount of knowledge with setups/fish.
Do very much miss my full coral setup.. in particular it contained a dwarf lionfish (which lead to having a specific guppy breeding tank, purely to feed the lionfish!)

Used to have a 6x2x2 full marine setup with custom cabinets that I built loved it to bits and made a nice dividing wall in the living area of our house at the time.. Sadly it ended up costing far to much to run and then the situation changed at home and it got sold off. Became a tropical tank and then has been sold again since.. I may have some pics somewhere but lost most of them in a hard drive fail many moons ago.. I think Adz might remember it?
Also Had a 4 foot predator tank that had 2 lion fish and a Barramundi Cod in it.. That lived in the bedroom. Bitches love seeing guppies get eaten while you bash one through them :P
Also had a Nano tank running on the kitchen bench for a while with a couple of clownfish and an anemone in it. Nano Tanks are cool but lots of work.

does anyone know where to get holly rock for a decent price? Mate at work is always on the lookout for it for his tanks.

Texas holly rock for a cichlid tank? How much do you need? Might have some otherwise try gumtree etc.
