Ok as I'm starting to accumulate more shit for my house I realise it should probably be insured.
Is there any benefit going rental insurance or normal contents insurance.
I am renting at the moment while deciding where I plan on moving to.

Never heard of rental insurance for a renter, only for the landlord, you just need normal contents insurance, Shannons does a good product, 10k of motoring sh!t free of charge. Make sure you get at least 1k of unspecified items, covers shit like your mobiles sunnies etc. doesnt cost that much either

I have normal home and contents insurance through RAC, it's $40 pm but good peace of mind. Renters insurance is $15 per month but only covers your personal belongings. I've had a window get broken was covered with minimal excess. I think it's worth paying the extra and just getting stuff fixed if it breaks rather then your landlord/property manager involved, and having them have to pay for damage to the house - makes you instant bad tenant where as with H&C they never have to know/get involved if something bad happens.

I HAD rental insurance in Leda with SGIO, minimum of $50k insured with a $300 premium PA. Stupid I don't have it now...

But yes, also had an 'oopsie' thingy for accidental damages, which replaced my PC for me.
