So it has come time to invest in some winter gloves I think. I tried riding with ski gloves this morning and had to pull over and swap back to my short summer ones as I had the motor skills of a retard with them on.

What do you use for winter gloves so you don't freeze your fingers off?? Im riding about 30kms about 80km/hr at 6-7am in the morning.

Are all the main brands sizing pretty similar? The short technic gloves I have had for last few years fit like a glove.

I have some dririder winter gloves, for most riding they do the job well, but extended rides in winter you hands still get cold. Short of heated grips/gloves, i recon you'll always have to deal with it to some degree...

mine are these:

Im currently riding with these, so those look nice and comfy in comparison haha. Are they 'waterproof'? I have never ridden with long cuff gloves before, is there anything to look out for with them fitting over the sleeves of a leather jacket nicely or do they usually have plenty of room in that part?

they are fully waterproof, i've ridden in epic rain and hands have stayed dry. Gaunlets are great for keeping the wind out too, plenty of room to go over jackets, but if you are riding in the wet, tuck them under your rain jacket. Otherwise they fill up with the water running down your sleeves ;)

i use similar dry rider winter gloves to Brett, they are a bit think and take a little while to get used to riding in but they stop the wind and are 100% water proof. Or put some bark busters on ur bike like a dirtbike u'd be suprised the diffrence blocking that wind makes

I wear thinnish wollen gloves under mine, helps a little. Mine are also gauntlet so I stay fairly protected but I still freeze.

I don't necessarily run a sports bike, but I've done plenty of riding (including a trip around Aus, and another one in works)

The gloves EVL WRX posted are very good, mine are a different brand but that style keep your hands extremely dry and warm while allowing you full maneuverability which might otherwise be hindered by wearing two layers of gloves.

The only time I've had issues with them was riding through falls creek.. but as you can imagine, there was snow everywhere so it's understandable that I couldn't feel my limbs.

I use a set of FIVE WFX-Skin gloves which are quite warm and comfy yet dont affect fine controls that much

A good long sleeve shirt / thermals tucked into the glove will also reduce wind penetration

DriRider Nordics. I have used a set for a while now and they are amazing at keeping my hands warm. If I needed them to be warmer I would get heated grips.

Get yourself a set of silk dress gloves. They go under your normal gloves and block all the wind out keeping your hands toasty. They're usually about $20
