Looking at buying a 2008 Rodeo
Has anyone had one?
I am looking at manual turbo diesel dual cabs
My brother just got a 2007 Hilux for similar budget and i am not impressed at all
P.S If anyone wants a non-thrashed GQ TI at a good price, let me know

Generally reasons for that though lol
They had a few issues with the 3.0L, blocked pick up from sludged injectors, they had fuel issues with the little solenoid in the back of fuel pump itself.
If you lightly tap the sump, you generally need a new one as the pick up sits very close to the bottom of the lower sump extension.
I really don't mind the 4JJ1 motor, if you keep up to date with servicing, and use a propper low ash oil, they are usually pretty good rigs, like any diesel 4wd but they have some issues.
If you end up getting one, check through Holden what and if it has had any warranty work done to it, I worked on them for close to 8 years (pre 3.0L also a decent motor ), and I apart from a few abnormal issue, I rated them as 'ok'

Going to check out an '03 space cab tray back tomorrow morning fingers crossed. Are there any things to check with them/look out for apart from the obvious? Same engine as'08??
Manual and diesel, I read rumors the engines blew up all the time but then sounds like it was a different engine that blew in the jackeroo and being the same displacement the 'deo got bagged out as well.. not sure after reading both stories.

03 rodeos are great, only thing that ate dicks on them was the shift on the fly system and the egr valves. Sandwich plate leaked are factory fitted. I loved those motors so easy to work on compared to the later model 4jj1, jackaroo was the 4jx1 motor which was a caterpillar throw back motor

I think mine was an 08? Last model before they changed to Colorado anyways with 3L diesel / 5 speed manual. When it was running, no problems. But mine had major fuel injection and clutch problems and spent about 3 months off the road with warranty repairs.

I've got the 3l diesel dual cab, not a massive 4wd guy but can drag a trailer and 4 bikes piece of piss, and doesn't struggle on sand. Did powerlines and drove it through meter deep water without a snorkel and didn't have any dramas either. Haven't driven the newer 4bs but for the price it's bloody good.
A mates got one with close to 400ks on it and still goes strong as anything.
