Hey dudes got a VP calais that has a few air con problems..
First issue is the air only comes down at the feet or windscreen, only slightly blows through the two face vents in the center, but not the door face vents or the rear center console vents. I checked all of the vac lines and they are connected so i was thinking its the vacuum solenoid block possibly?
second issue is that it only blows cold air and i can't get the heater to work.. not sure what it could be?
If anyone knows where I can get parts to fix this it would be much appreciated :)

Regarding 'cold only' issue:
Is the heater tap corroded?
Or broken off from the vac unit controlled by the line from the dash?
My old VR had same issue, new tap and it was dandy. Just a suggestion.

it probably is the heater tap i just had a look and there is vacuum there but the outside of it doesn't look in the best shape.

Heater tap has probably been bypassed or the likes.
They have a VAC ball that sits on the passenger side behind the bumper, make sure that mother fucker has the vac lines on it and or isn't cracked, most of the time as said though, the lines behind the switches turn to shit and snap and it goes to the default setting of the windscreen.
Any wrecker will have parts for a VP, just a matter of giving a fuck tbh

there is a onboard diagnostic you can also do to check sensor to make sure all that is operating correctly. It does sound like you may have lost vacuum to ther actuators though, and check heater tap for movement as the rubber flap swells with time and doesnt move.

Anyone know where I can source a brand new aircon vacuum solenoid from?

yeah I did its an obsolete part and its not showing up in any of their systems. Really wasn't too keen on picking up another flogged out one from the wreckers for $60 though

Are your sure thats your problem?? If it was me(although i also have to tools to check) i would be going round with hand held vac pump and checking hoses and actuators to check for leaks.

yeah i think your right Matty, picked up another second hand one today and its still the same. I'd agree its a vac leak in one of the actuators from seeing a calais with the dash out. Looks like i'll be living with it until it gives me the shits too much.

The VAC ball is really easy to check, and the lines fall off it very easily.

Its got vacuum at the ball you can feel and hear it when you unplug it.. Its somewhere behind the dash I rekon..
