So I've just woken up to my car been started & driven through my garage door by 2 dark skinned, small build guys.
It has been reported to police.
The car stands out.
It's a white Evo Tommi Makinen with White Rota Grids with a pink lip.
Plates EVLGURL
Stolen from Belmont area.

Please keep a look out for my baby.
All I have left is her rear spoiler from where it didn't make the break out.
So it's wingless!

Should have immobilised 2 thieving scum before Police arrived with a crowbar to the back of the skull.

"Dunno. Kinda looks like they tripped..."

No point immobilising the car. If they really want it they will come after you inside your house while you sleep. No-one wants a knife or syringe held to their throat.

Heard this getting absolutely BELTED down Epsom Ave in Redcliffe just before 6am, they were flying along and ringing the neck out of it :( Headed towards Great Eastern Hwy, could hear them for quite some time.

Edit - there is the possibility they went to the Caltex at the end of Epsom Ave and Great Eastern, so give that a shot.

In a perfect world Ricey you would be all the law enforcement we'd need.

But really regardless of if they get off light the least that would happen as it wouldn't be held against the owner as a claim on insurance. When my car was knicked and they couldn't pin it on someone my insurance copped the hit.

Car was fully insured & Ive had massive support from friends & randoms about sightings of the car.
Agrred, I dont think she will be back to me in one piece. i mean they drove into my garage & ripped the spoiler off just to get the car out! Atleast i still have some of her.

This is the car 2 weeks ago. Most recent photo.
She should look the same minus the rear spoiler.

As Jess has said the car has been found.
It's been taken away & will know more once forensics have had a look over it.
At this stage I'm still in shock. Although in the photo it looks ok, there was a lot of damage to the car on the other side where it has been run into stuff.
I want to thank everyone who helped. I got to the car just after the police thanks to ppl from Facebook & forums.

Lol if it WASN'T aborted before the crash they'd have someone in custody. They were being pursued by the dog squad. The dog would've ripped the driver to shreds.

He got away because they were lacking behind. Use your head.

Neodore
02-02-2013, 07:50 PM
I don't believe the police were in the wrong in chasing the thief, and i don't believe that the accident was in any way the fault of the pursuing officers. I'm glad that the police still chase as i would hope that if someone nicked off with my car they catch them.

Ill admit i used a poor choice of words, it just seams sad that every time an accident happens the police have to go with the "we weren't there" line to not get the back lash from chasing those that deserve it.

fourseven
02-02-2013, 07:54 PM
As I've stated many times over the years, when the Police turn their lights off, thieves know they've been called off.

That's when the thieves usually put the boot in, to create a gap knowing they aren't likely to be pursued for a certain period of time.

This is when most of them realise they can't drive for shit after binning it trying to create that gap.

Cars can be replaced, doors can be fixed and soon you'll be over it, but they will always be boongs, sure the government gives them handouts and they bludge their whole lives and steal everything they want,, but in the end they are still a boong, the most hated breed of creatures in Australia, no one trusts you, no one wants to give you a job, you will eventually be bred out of existence, the chance of owning a nice house and going on holidays to exotic places is fuck all, cops instantly hate you and you stink no matter how much you wash yourself in the nearest local pool or beach.
When you look at it that way, think yourself lucky you got born white and only had your car nicked :P

Seeing as its a reasonably 'rare' car, and the repair bill for the specific (read: Genuine) TME parts would most certainly see this as a write off?

Totally Off topic, but someone did some structural damage (very minor) to the left rear quarter panel and door of his W427 HSV limited edition walkinshaw wankadore, and had it written off, purely because it was a ridiculously overpriced, underproduced model of HSV.
Same/same?

I'm in two minds. Everyone is saying a write off will b good & that it won't feel the same.
So that makes me feel like that should be what I want.
But I've spent so much time & money on it. I've got to do some of the mods & tuning, I've rebuilt the drivetrain after breaking it. Every one says it's just a car, but it was MY car.
I'm sure most of you would understand, even if I'm failing to put what I mean into words. :p

write it off ... buy wreck back.
buy another TME with the money... put the driveline etc in the new one

PS: i see the rotas ate shit ... i thought you were anti-rotas after the last one broke while driving? ... or am i mistaken thus why there are rotas back on it?

evlgurl
03-02-2013, 04:06 PM
I'd actually had the new Rota on for 2 weeks.
After the first Rota broke, I got in touch with Rota about it & they explained a few things. They are cast, not forged wheels, & I had hit a massive pot hole on the wrong spot on the tyre which caused the rim to break the way it did. So I put a new one on & thought I'd give it another go since there were a lot of circumstances involved.
I clearly don't know how this one was damaged, but since the guy driving the car didn't care about it I doubt it was on a nice flat road. Fairly sure it's probably under steered side on into a curb at high speeds since it was attempting to escape the police.

Although I appreciate how everyone is saying fuck it off, it'll never be the same.
After spending all the time and money on a car of my own, and knowing I've fixed it from how it was when I got it, after it has been cooned around the country side, nothing makes me smile more knowing I've done the hard work to bring it back to life again so I can enjoy the fuck out of it.
Whilst getting it written off is probably a good thing, restoring it to its former glory again and being able to enjoy it once again would be worth every cent IMO/IRL.
Obviously it is no ones call but your own, but I think with a car like that, it's something best kept than destroyed because it got all too hard.
I hope it all works out either way, definately need to bring back capital punnishment

I hope the outcome is the result thats best for you, sorry for this to have happened to you.

My step dad's grange that was pinched a couple of months ago (posted in the stolen thread) was written off due to damage upon closer inspection. Exterior damage was minor but when they looked into it further it was written off. The fact that it was in a high speed pursuit made it easier to get full mechanical inspections etc from the insurance company so make sure it gets a full check up. That being said, it was just a holden, he wasnt attached to it (although he was very proud that it outran the coppers) and they were on the fence about the write off or not. Him not wanting it back made the decision for them because they could get half decent money for the wreck.

If my FPV got nicked tomorrow I wouldnt want it back. If I owned a TME and had put all the hard work and care into it to appreciate it I'd want my baby back. Best of luck

sorry to hear. I was furious and depressed as fuck when my car was knocked off......

I was in 2 minds with mine.....was missing for 3 weeks before it was found....then another 9 weeks before i had it back. Wasnt sure what had been done to it in the 3 weeks.

The fact that it was in a high speed pursuit made it easier to get full mechanical inspections etc from the insurance company so make sure it gets a full check.

Yeah, make sure you get the drive train checked out with a fine tooth comb... I hear that TMS place is good for finding issues that the insurance can fix.

not too sure why everyone refers to these theifes as smelly coons.

clearly if they have no problem stealing cars, I'm sure they are wearing the latest nike & addidas clothing/shoes.

I picked up a stolen/recovered vz from the owner (who had no insurance) and it still had boxes of new shoes in it when we picked it up from the holding yard.

^ you have clearly never smelt coon.... if you have a dog go squirt it with the hose (or piss on it) and BAM! instant essence of boong!
