IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A
DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES
WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER
4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT
UP THEIR BEHIND " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A
SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY
PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING
TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE
ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE
SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES
ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT
IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL
SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY,
WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU
KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE
CITIZENS OF THE WORLD SAY : "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

ummm...wouldn't it be more prudant to look at the tax on the tax on the petrol that the government charges?
Government get like 80% of the cost of fuel.
Unfortunately, this doesnt work.
As discussed on a few news programs this morning, if you dont buy fuel on one day, you'll either have to buy it the day before or the day after anyway, unless everyone stops using their vehicles (which definitely wont happen).
If everyone hasnt noticed, the price of crude has dropped around 5 US dollars a barrel in the last week, yet our prices are still climbing...when there is an oil scare, the fuel prices increase the very next day, even though oil price surges arent officially passed down to the consumer until about 3-4 weeks later.
This is pure GOUGING on behalf of the fuel companies, who have bragged about a healthy increase in profits in the last 6 months, even though they claim that the prices are the way they are because of oil price increases.
Not only is the gate price of fuel inflated to gouge the consumer, but many of the non-independent service stations IE BP owned stations, have a certain level of gouging factored into the pump price also, which means their profit margin is twofold.
An example of this is the 10c per litre average price difference between BP and Shell last week, and it even went up to an 18c a litre difference one day last week!
The best way to work around this, is use the Fuelwatch website, and always purchase the cheapest fuel in your area. If every single person did this, then it would make a difference.
The company that would be most affected by this is BP, who are consistently the highest priced fuel company in WA, and continue to charge high gate prices to their independent stations, and to the consumers at the company owned stations.
Its like recycling...one person doing it hardly makes a difference, but a large group can make a big difference.

Well said BALISTC, i work at a servo and the ammount of people who have told me about this is stupid like 4 out of 10 customers do if it does hapen just means less work for me :P but i VERY much doubt its going to make a difference to the prices.
We were 1.27 and BP was 1.37, down the road was 1.19!!! or something stupid :droul:

BP is the ultimate ripoff (pardon the pun), but what choice do we have when we are chasing 98 octane fuel?
Paying $1.45 per litre is really starting to piss me off, someone assinate a fuel company executive to express our angst.

Avgas is cheaper! I think i might have to run my car on that... "looking at the 44 drum home scrathing my chin" but wont that mean on the next day prices will go up???? because they need to make up for the loss of profit.

Fuel prices are a conspiracy the cops are running, to stop all these cruises happening lately.
Think about it
The whole petrol thing is stupid...especially considering that we refine our own oil. Crap like the americans and middle east shouldn't affect us at all

Oi niggahs, if you can't afford to slam the petrol in your car, sell it and buy a ****box. I can't wait til I get another performance car! Not too long now. In fact, any of you winging bitches can buy the swift, 400km for $25.

i dont think the problem is not being able to afford the fuel just why should it be soooooo fuking expensive !

Comparing regular to regular unleaded, which the majority of fuel buyers use, its no different..

lpg is the go. my lexcen is on lpg it costs me 25 bucks to do bout 360km. that includes freeway traffic at 7.30-8 in the morning. im saving for an import atm but imo i maybe be approaching time for import lovers to get a daily ****ter and gas coversion. with the money u save on fuel in the longer term... performance parts. Brockas was telling me it cost him 70+ bucks a week for fuel and he does like 400 km. for that i can do like 1000km.
government is offering good subsidies on gas conversions too.
my 2 cents
