I was thinking I would like a little more HP from my GTR before Racewars in April, as i am not sure I can rely on my theory of making up for my lack of HP by catching the other competitors on the bends.........

It is currently running 400rwHP @ 18psi

Runs an 11.9 @ 119mph 1.78 60ft (would like low 11's 125mph'ish)

It is currently limited by the stock injectors which are maxed at this point.

I have done the calculations and reckon if I can hit 480rwHP I can be an outright contender........

As it stands:

PFC
Garrett GT2560-5's or 7's cant remember (good for about 530rwHP)
Full 3" Mandrel exhaust with front Dumps
K&N Filters
Nismo fuel reg

Otherwise standard everything else

Cheapest - easiest - best way to 480rwHP

Suggestions please :)

Injectors and retune and see where it lands you?

Give the car and some money to the workshop of your choice and let them build you a monster.

Bwahaha I see what you did there

Im still a tight pingpingpingping though......so Bang for Buck is aim....so cheapest way to 480 ish :)

Cars rarely driven so E85 an option....people getting good (reliable / stable) results from RB26's on it?

If you rarely drive it can lead to issues of the fuel going off and causing major pain.

Like I said, injectors and retune.

Pumps, Injectors, E85 - Retune.

Can buy E85 from plenty of places around town these days, so if its VERY rarely driven no need to sit on drums of fuel.

Cams?

Judging by your current power of 400hp at 18psi you may have -7s unless your -5's are seriously under performing or possibly being held back by the stock cams and obviously injectors aswell.

If you want 480awhp u will need -5's or a GT35 single, poncams, injectors and probably a clutch too if you haven't upgraded it already.

+1, except stock cams wouldn't cause this kind of restriction... but pon cams are a good upgrade if all other bases are covered.

Injectors / fuel pump / e85 / retune will likely get you to 440-450hp, any further will require new turbos
(-9s or -5s would be cheaper/easier option... single ie GT35 good return for a little more investment)
Otherwise only other option would be an amount of boost (on e85) than might not be good for the longevity of the engine

Another option instead of E85 is water/meth injection which will allow you to run more boost. Kits can be had for $300-400 and the methanol costs stuff all, but you would obviously need to have it tuned (with bigger injectors and possibly fuel pump) to gain any benefit though...

Allstar for martini, racing dynamics have sucrogen, i usually have a bit, rpw will have it......

Did a bit of research, turbos are these: Garrett 2860r 707160-5

Not sure I like the E85 option to be honest, I only use a tank of fuel a year....it would go off....and the cars use is normally spur of the moment so would be inconvenient.

Was hoping to try say a set of Sard 700cc injectors and a pair of Z32 AFMs, if that failed pon cams as well

For a 1 off event your best bang for buck will be to tune on racing fuel. Something like Elf Perfo 105 or VP C16. These fuels have a very high calorific value so will save the need to upgrade fuel pumps and injectors.

This stuff is hella expensive 'tho, so the money you save in injectors and fuel pumps (compared to E85) may be consumed in the additional cost of this fuel in the tuning and over the weekend.

I would hazard guess that a 200L drum of C16 would be around the $1800 mark compared to $650 for E85 Sucrogen.

As Magic1 stated - very easy to flash tunes on the PFC if you have a Datalogit.

I use the Shell Wr race fuel
WR is the Fia approved world rally fuel, It cost 1200 for a 200lt drum
It has the same burn rate and consumption as 98 so that saves the need for injectors and pumps

Hahaaa.

You guys underestimate my Lazyiness.

I really like set and forget, so don't really want to be changing flash tunes and fuels.

I don't think i've pressed a button on my PFC in 5 years ;)

MX racer has it in one. Nitrous is so simple and cheap in theory. Car drives as is, and only gets the extra go when you arm the nitrous - how's that for lazy power! Only need to make sure your fuel pump is up to the extra fuel demand, but that generally is easy and cheap compared to bigger injectors, this assumes you use a wet nitrous kit.

I'd really like to try it out on something one day. Autocross car needs a kick up the date...hmmm.

No mention of if nitrous is allowed at RW, which is something they probably should clarify. No mention of allowable (or banned) fuels or oxidisers that I remember from sup regs to day. Only place you can legally use it is drags so far as I know. Any CAMS type events and you not supposed to have it.
