3 point puller for balancer?

The old balancers can be very hard to remove.
I dont even re-set the tensioner in a vice.. Just throw the belt on then start the tensioner bolts and evenly tighten them up.
Yeah harmonic balancers are common to be difficult to remove on JZ motors.
Wouldn't be too keen to do in someone's driveway, but I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cashies.

Set aside an hour and half if you know what you are doing, I remove my radiator/transcooler/power steering cooler etc, then its pretty half a dozen bolts. Chicken foot puller is overly recommended.
I can lend a hand after Christmas if you like.

does the belt look screwed ?? can still read the writing on it ?.. wouldnt panic about belt change too much unlike nissan junker's these are clearance motors so if it spits a belt , wont do much damage other then not run

Guy just bought car and sticker says it was done 90k ago I think... Preventative maintenance
fairly easy to do as long as the balancer doesnt give you any grief. one of those cheapo supacheap pullers actually fits perfectly on them. easier to take the radiator out. so if youre doing a service you may as well do a coolant flush and change thermostat while its apart. if the balancer hasnt already been replaced I would do that as well. they have a habit of exploding and doing a lot of damage to the front of the engine/car.
as for the tensioner you can put it in a vice and stick a pin in it to hold it back. bolt it on then release the pin. of just wind the two bolts that hold it almost all the way out. will give you enough slack to but the belt on then just tighten the bolts back up.

thats correct , 2jzge vvti and non vvti, 2jzgte vvti , 1jzgte vvti are all non clearance.. 1jzgte non vvti and 2jzgte non vvti are both clearance ..
i just assumed 2jzgte .. forgot could of been other models ..
either way , yea the harmonic bal bolt is the hardest part .. prob best tip is to crack that sucker first , if give u massive troubles , breaker bar on the bolt , flick starter motor let breaker smash on ground .. give it 90deg swing to start . sometime the bolt is a pingpingpingping , need a few swings at 180deg sometimes ... actual pulley fit to crank is usually not that tight ,
might as well do cam and front main while ya there , be careful of CAS trigger washer ( there a lil 1 bolt belt retainer that everyone forgets to remove )
check this star washer is tight on the cam gear , as its common for these to get loose
prev maintenence .. haha i had a 2jzgte that did 240,000 kms and didnt get its 100k service .. and didnt even get an oil change for over 80,000kms .. needless to say it still ran fine .. on vegemite for oil .. just the turbos failed

As said, only cvnt part is harmonic balancer bolt. Tourque setting is 290nm...
I made a tool from angle that works a treat for undoing/ retorquing:
