[25th Oct] Motive DVD / Antilag Cruise v2

It's that time of the year again!


ADGP is in town this weekend and the Motive DVD crew will be over here to film the event. As always, we'll be putting on a cruise the night before the event to show those Easterners that us boys in the West don't give a fuck about leather interiors or sound systems, it's all about performance!

As such, we'll be holding a PERFORMANCE CARS ONLY cruise Thursday night (25/10/12).


Last year we had nearly 400 cars and the segment on Motive DVD was a big hit Australia-wide.


Motive DVD will be filming at all 4 stops, and any action along the way, with the main focus being on the initial meetpoint.



Details:

- PERFORMANCE CARS ONLY.

- Date: 25/10/12

- Meetpoint: Morley Galleria underground carpark.

- Time: 9pm meet for a 10pm depart.

I noticed a red VE sv6 that was a déjàvu of last year; red p plates, music up, mainys up the carpark followed by one wheel squealing as he left.

never ever had an issue with the varex on the aristo, I'd say our still work because they havnt been tocchified or royced hahaha.

mine didnt break on the XR8 ... just that the WA distributor of Varex (prestige exhaust) said due to the heat of a rotor, the varex's cant be warranted...pretty much every other car can. haha fml.
but he said the solder on the wiring fucks up and the butterfly mechanism jams .... so tbh, probably would work a treat, and if it breaks, its relatively easy to fix yourself anyways
just wonder how loud a rotor is with just the varex (when closed)

To be honest, it keeps things under wraps a bit, and I didn't see anyone get yellowed last night (I think there were 1 or 2 yellows handed out, but once again there were 200 cars there, your car has to be pretty blatantly bunky / modified to stand out in that crowd... or you are being a dick).

Was a good amount of cars out at the first meetpoint, a lot of people thinking they're heros when leaving as mentioned, but you get that when it's advertised on facebook.

Don't get how silly some people can be, or how easily they can be peer pressured. Last time there were cops everywhere & by the sounds of things, this time was no different. What did they think would happen if they dropped a big dirty skid whilst police are patrolling the area?

I know that Paul, one of those things I didn't think had to be said but I'm just saying the cops that read this forum could take a keener interest in future cruises. Obviously that sort of thing does happen, time and a place but in my opinion it's much better on the downlow, not post it up for everyone to see, that's all. Not like I'm against a skid lol

They already do take an interest in our cruises. No skids were dropped before 20 cops rocked up at 9.01pm

I think all things considered the Police attention was fuck all last night. Those in attendance at Morley were general duties, and local. It's their job to patrol the area. They weren't there because there were hundreds of cars, they were there because there were hundreds of people.

Second meet point, nothing. They were too busy chasing the 6 teenagers down South Street and Roe Highway.

Third meet point, general duties coppers carrying out traffic duties, casually driving down the road and someone dropped a skid. They were never going to look the other way. I'd put money on them driving on if it wasn't for the smoke in front of them.

Forth meet point, nothing.

In reality there were half a dozen cops really taking interest in the cruise and they were the motorcycle cops who were at the first meet point around the corner. And I'm willing to bet that knock off time for them was 10pm, and overtime wasn't/wouldn't have been approved. You can't say the cruise attracted Police attention because there happens to be a Police car on the same road everyone else is driving to the next leg.

Skids were great. Everyone stood out pf harms way on the retaining wall well away from the road and a couple of cars let rip and no children or puppies died. Too bad for the guy that got impounded but that's the risk you take.

Saw a single police car sitting a few turns from the meet point set back a bit off the road... looked like a lion silently waiting for the right moment to arise to attack a weakened or injured prey.
