Was involved in a car chase. Ran from police and smashed into another car. Guys in police custody now. News crews at the scene so watch the news tonight.

A man has been arrested after a high-speed chase that ended after a crash involving an innocent motorist in Bayswater.

Police started chasing the stolen Nissan Sylvia about midday.

The chase ended when the Sylvia ran into the back of a Hyundai sedan being driven by a woman.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Guilford Road and Tonkin Highway about midday.

Detectives arrested the man and have taken him in for questioning.

Nobody was injured as a result of the crash but the modified Sylvia sustained significant damage.

The westbound lane of Guilford Road was closed from Katanning Street to Tonkin Highway.
