so i have a 32 gtr witch im 99% sure has spun a big end bearing but the engine has some other issues. pretty much all standard as far as i know but i havnt had it for long
At the moment im thinking the best option for me id to probly go thru jpc and try and get a swap of a new engine out of a halfcut and either do a straight swap or sell my motor after
basicly have about 5-6k to spend max but dont realy wana spend more. figured going a rebuild with forgies would probly blow the buget and still running standard turbos and stuff i wud not get any benifit. hopeing to get something that will be relaible for a little wile and be able to make a little power out of, car allready has intercooler/exaust ect
Any one here know any better options for this kind of buget? or what shop you might sugest? cheers

There is no way you will get a RB26 built decently in your budget...
If I was you, go to JPC, buy a second hand motor... Get them to install billet oil pump gears ($500ish) and a decent harmonic balancer ($700ish) and remove and replace the engine.
You should get at least $1000 back for your rooted motor

Did ya know if there is much point going for a 33/34 rb26 ? I know the turbos are better on the 34 and think the crankshaft drive to the oil pump is better on the 33s but i can allways go get a crank collar and rebuild the tubos with n1 bits, is there anything else thats better ? Im Fairly new to the rb26s

With your budget, try to get a 33 / 34 motor and put a new sump and oil pump on it.

Yes 33/34 cranks have better oil pump drives, so do late model 32's... Crank collar is a decent job aka crank out = over your budget
Brockas is correct, a bigger sump (or at least baffles and overfilling sump) is a good idea.

Dont go too crazy in regards to the pump if your not running a restricted oil flow to the head.
N1 should be fine or even as Simon stated, wack a set of gears in there.
If your looking for a sump baffle, i have an unused Tomei one. PM me if your keen.

Good point, there are no 400rwhp JZ's that are not broken
No threads of 1j's making over 400!

On to real suggestions, since 1jzs are crap anyway, I'm going to suggest against the grain:
Save some money and build the motor. You're paying the labour to remove it anyway (1-2k) then you're up for a halfcut motor which will be of random quality (4-6k).
For 10-12k you have a fully built (and well built at that) motor. Resale value goes up, ability to wind more power in later on goes up and sounds cool.
You're not going to get your money back either way, you might as well put the extra in... I'd almost garentee resale value would go up 2-4k with a rebuilt motor vs. standard 50-70k motor dropped in.
And as we've learnt a cool sounding motor = pull chics. BBQ master proving this currently!

Don't listen to someone who can't differentiate between your and you're.
So much fail... it's been a long day.
