The track will be absolutely dismal because it wouldn't have been prepped all winter

It will give you good experience at feeling your car turn the slicks hard off the line!
Thats about all I find it good for!
I think its still ok if your cars not on slicks or if you can get traction on the street, you will be fine.

OK so shit track...AWD and shitty little stall should make that not too much of an issue for what I want to do.
I was more interested in how many people/cars, how many runs will I get/time between runs...do I need to get there early incase it fills up etc.
Will head down anyway and say Hai to the fellas in my Jap crap and see if I get the usual pleasant greetings ;)
stumps.

From my experience there unless you have a formula tech sticker on your car or any other shop that sponsors the track you get 3 - 4 runs.

Be there ready to race for the first runs and you will get plenty of laps in. Racing starts at 6, so get there at or just after 5. That will give you time to get through scrutineering and get your shit together.
Like above, after the burnouts there's not usualy too many people around.

I generally get around 6 runs.
Though never been down when it's absolutely packed.

Only ever been that bad once or twice for me, when it's freakishly busy & all spots are sold out. Last season on average i was getting 8 runs & i was there nearly every week from 6pm til 9:30pm. Could've squeezed another 3 or 4 runs in at the end of the night if i wanted, but i'm only really interested in the normal tree, not pro tree.

Went last night as some friends were going to spectate and so I decided why not give the car a run for the first time. I knew it would be slippery, first of the season and all that, but have never, ever driven on such a slippery track. And I've done 150 plus runs over the years at Ravenswood and Kwinana. First run managed some traction and got a semi reasonable first out time, 2.16 sec 60ft . Next two runs were aborted after looking at wall and centre line in 2nd and then 3rd gear. There's some footage on yewbewb of me 'racing' a friend in his XR6 turbo. He found enough traction (12.1 ET) as did most others it seems. Though on his first run he stalled it up too hard and got a 4 second 60 ft time! Just a bit of wheelspin...
It was busy enough. Got there about 6. Got 3 runs in before burnouts. But gave up after getting too scared driving in a 'straight line'. Soft, I know. Could have done another 2 or so after burnouts as everyone leaves as mentioned before.
Will wait till track is prepped and warmer (it was super cold) before another try later in year and will probably give the tyres a bit of smoking too.

Hey mate
Saw your car there last night, looks the goods .... would like to know the specs, whats it wieght ? what sort of power ?
Seen a couple of your runs looks a handful, what sort pressure were you running ?(and what sort of tyres) some drag radials might be the way to go ?
I got 5 runs in all night, massive wait times for the amount of people...mainly due to cars pissing oils(formular tech lane was puddled with oil everywhere !!! thanks pingpingpingpings)
My car ran shit mid 11`s@130mph doing 2.4sec 60`s...... few things learnt, lots of expectations in the crowd with the "new" weapons of choice(big ugly turbo six`s) but as the night proved it really isn`t that easy driving fast(10.99 is still not just fast...its fuck`n fast) in a straight line ;)

Ah, saw a run of your Lib wagon. Got some serious snap it does, and sounds angry to go with it. Good stuff and quick times! Hope your auto trans likes it...better I guess off the line once it boosts.
Weight 1110kg. Power 380 rwhp. So not enough for serious go fast times at drags, but enough for everywhere else. On my one run where I could drive it full track, got 12.0 at 199. Will go 2 - 3 tenths faster with a better track, but that's it I'd say.
Not setup for drags obviously, stiff suspension etc. Runs R comp tyres (Khumo V70), so sticky enough when warm, but not drag tyres. Tyres were set to usual 29 psi cold. May drop to low 20's for next effort, but being circuit tyres they have stiff sidewalls in any case. My trans is living on borrowed time as is, no not sure I want too much traction thanks. Just enough to go 1.9 or so 60 ft would be great.

my old man went in his drag car last night, was playing up at mid track though apparently. he ended up finding a broken water hose to the turbo. but from what he described to me over the phone today, it's either got a fuel blockage or the wastegate has jammed closed too. (i have tune setup to cut power if it over boosts)

What car was he in Tre-Cool ?
200mph - Yeah definately do a skid on r-comps...they needs to be warm, and I`d go 20psi too. What year GT40 is it ? What size engine ? For me the best car there last night, I kept thinking that would be awesome with 600+hp and sub 1000Kg ...
My auto is the least of my worries(maybe).. Rigoli built FMVB, billet RWD/4WD but the Torque converter with it is typical rigoli....on the bottle or nothing.(Won`t stall past 3K needs a 100 shot to get it up and bounce it out of the hole...)

I whent down there to watch my mate [4d eatr] Blue ss vt. Was running slicks on the rear was pretty disspointed with his time got 12.7.
His current car has 396hp. His old SS (vx ss) had 370hp and got 12.8 with that. Hopefully it was just the track for his sakes.
