one in the crane business or can recommend me a company that will do a small domestic job?

Bought a portable spa 2nd hand got it home easy enough on back of a trailer only to find out it is 30mm to wide to go through the opening in the back of my garage and is to tall to be tipped up on its side.

Spa in 2500x2500x1200 weighs roughly 100-150kg and needs to be lifted over my house at the narrowist part which is roughly 6mtrs and put on the back deck from there me and a couple mates can carry it rest of the way.

cheers Mike

Have a char to your neighbours see if you can get it into their back yard with a few mates and then lift it over the fence. Will be a fuck load cheaper than trying to do it with a crane.

already consdered that Fozzy, but neighbours houses are same as mine either no rear access or only access thru a narrow garage opening. I have to options either clear out the 1400 wide gap down the side of my house get a few mates and try carry it on its side which would be near on fucking impossible and risk damaging the spa. Or fork out the coin and get it lifted over the house. I only paid $1000 for the spa its cost me $100 to restore all the wood on it so has cost me fuck all so far so not really fussed about forking out coin to get it craned over.

Would not recommend Freo. Had them come to site and none of the operators or riggers had licences.

Would not surprise me, Freo's is a very unorganised company

Depends which branch you deal with. I work for Freos based in Newman and since the buy out by stirling cranes they have been taking a lot of steps to improve things. As for sending a crane out with an unticketed operator/riggers.. I find that very strange and if it did happen it is a very rare event regardless how disorganised they are.

As for Metro crane hire there are plenty of mobs who will come do the job.

Freos
Bentley cranes
Perth rigging company

Boom

Cost will vary on the crane, a 15ton franna should be beyond sufficient for a pool but you might even be better going with a city crane due to maneuverability in an urban environment. Then you'll have to cover an operator and a rigger most likely to hook it all up/guide him in.

You would know of my old man then, he was head of maintenance up until 4 months ago. Their biggest problem was that they were still trying to operate it like a small family business.

Agreed, that is part of the transition with the new owners. Tonys old methods are being overhauled and a big business/North american based way of tackling things are gradually brought in. We've gotten a bunch of new cranes for the yard, bunch of new LVs and host of other stuff.

Good to hear things are turning around there. Now they just need a new yard at kwinana because the current one is fucking a atrocious.

I think you'll need something bigger than a Franna just because of the reach, if you have to go over a house? if thats the case it's going to be a few $$

If the ground is level down side of house clear it out and take it down there … buy a couple of planks of wood and get some casters from Bunnings and make up moving skateboards and roll it down ??
