cant blame him from wanting to leave. Yamaha is a good match for him. cant wait to see how it goes next year with him and Lorenzo :D

Woooooo! Now all we gotta do is convince Stoner to hang around and we'll have another ripper of a season on our hands again!

I'd rather he stayed at Ducati and develop that bike.

Spies had to go though.

Would have love to see Rossi back in Honda. I wonder whether he has lost some of his touch in Ducati?

Will be really good to see what Rossi can do with a competitive bike. Lorenzo and Rossi as team mates will be interesting!

guess he'll no longer have the excuse "its the bike" when he fails to get results. IMO the seat should of gone to Crutchlow or Dovi, they have performed they deserve the factory ride rather than it being "gifted" back to a former champion purely cos he is a draw card. Its sponsor money making bullshit rather than riders being rewarded for there efforts.
Rossi should of been given his own satelite yamaha team then he could plod about the track doing his thing being a show pony and pulling the crowd while the new young riders could progress.
Rossi Vs Lorenzo i dont think its going to be as intresting as everyone reckons, Lorenzo is going to power away with the championship while Rossi is left battling for minor places with Pedrosa and Dovi.
Although with Rossi pulling the pin on Ducati it does open up the seat to Cal so shouldnt be long b4 its announced he has been signed to Ducati for 2013. Dovi will hopefully stick with Tech3 and hopefully beat Rossi plenty of times and make Yamaha realise there mistake. Also means the empty seat at Tech3 that was orginally promised to Bradley Smith will be available.

AMN is reporting that Dovi is going to be signing with Ducati, if so looks like Crutchlow really has been casted aside. It's a shame cos he is a good rider just had a rough couple races, hopefully he finds his form avoids injury and can pick up a factory ride in 2014.

Interesting hate for Rossi.. I can't quite understanding how anyone could not love him. This is probably the hardest move he's ever made going up against the best rider in the field on a bike he's had built around him but it does mean he can race towards the front which is where he belongs. As much as I love him I am not sure he'll beat Lorenzo but I am certainly looking forward to seeing it! Dovi on a factory team has been done, the guy is a boring rider. I'd hope Ducati sign Cal personally.

As long as there is more riding like this I'll be fine with it.

This video deserves quoting, over and over again.

That was awesome but this was the best race I've ever seen. Stoner had a much quicker bike and Rossi lap after lap just repassed him in crazy positions. It ended up with Stoner giving up and crashing then doing his usual whinge post race about it.

i dont hate him and i do believe he is a huge charactor and have always found his antics and boundless energy entertaining. What i dont like is as i said above the way he has been gifted the factory seat at Yamaha. And a gift is exactly what it is, he has not shown the results in the last 18mths weather it be bike or rider issues. If it was any other rider they wouldnt be able to get a factory ride anywhere.
I wonder if Dorna had any input into him getting back on the Yamaha. The bean counters might be thinkin "shit stoner gone, Rossi the biggest draw card is doing poorly. Ticket sales will fall we gotta do something". Honda agreed to the rev limiter and dorna suddenly remove the rookie rule allowing Marquez to join Repsol. I wonder what Yamaha have bargained for?
-Dorna-"please give rossi ben spies spot, we need him to stay on the grid for ticket sales"
-Yamaha boss's-"ok he does bring sponsor money but what will you give us? jorge is down an engine you know?"

Or another reason could be yamaha want to focus 100% on Lorenzo being world champion next year, so rather than put a young rider in to mould and spend resources on and maybe be competition for Lorenzo they have taken Rossi knowing he wont beat Lorenzo but on the M1 will still finish in top 3 giving them the world and manufacturers championships and they can pretty much just leave him to do his thing.

That's crap mate because he has shown on the right bike he can deliver the results, more results than any rider on the grid! Put Lorenzo on a sh*t bike and he won't perform either but we all know he has the ability and should be riding the bike he is. It's like saying Michael Schumacher shouldn't have been allowed to come back to F1 and go to Mercedes.. his ability hadn't disappeared and if he wanted to come back as he did his history demands he should be allowed a top seat. I don't disagree that Rossi being at Yamaha is a draw card but there is nothing wrong with that what so ever, the team needs to be run to create a profit and improve the brand which is what bringing Rossi back will achieve. Think about the legions of fans who will come flooding back to Yamaha now. You're right that Yamaha have just resigned Lorenzo so they do not need another up and coming rider to challenge him who may upset the balance in the team. It makes sense for Rossi to be there and consistently bring in points to help Yamaha achieve both the riders and manufactures titles. I fail to see how this is in ANYWAY a negative thing, it is just smart business!

For Rossi it's a much bigger risk, he is going up against the best rider on the grid who has a far better understanding of the bike beneath him. He could get shown up badly and finish his career on a negative note as before you could always just blame the bike. But it takes courage and he obviously still believes he has what it takes so good on him and I hope to see him fighting for the title even if that is a little optimistic.
