Was just wondering if anyone has a copy of the building code timber span tables.

need to know the max span between posts for 190x45 MGP10/MPG12, when used as a pitching beam for single span tiled roof no ceiling.

cheers for the help

Yeah you want AS 1684.2 which are the timber framing span tables for non cyclonic areas MGP10 or MGP12. I have copies of most of the structural related codes at work, so feel free to pm me with any questions.

yeh that would be real handy, im pretty keen to see if i can stretch my post centres out to 3450ish. otherwise im looking at 2250ish. or i might get another size beam, say a 240x45

I don't think you will get a 190 to span 3.4, a 240 should span it.

Will scan and post tomorrow.

or go a glulam, more $$$ but the span is increased.

yeh thats my other thoughts but can only find ~60mm minimum width and i prefer to stay with 45mm

you are better off to be conservative with your spacings.

medium to long term the timber will 'creep' giving a visible deflection.

2250 post centers will not add that many more columns to the project.
