Not to sure on what the offical Antilag position is with Show N Shines. But here is the latest. Not to sure about you guys, but im not to keen on having my pride n joy under a tent for a weekend.
PAS WILL BE AT THE AHG DRIVING CENTRE
Lloyd had a major disagreement with the convention centre, and is not gonna have it there
PAS will use 1 skidpan for the show. will have approx 200 cars on there
Half the area will be undercover, the rest will be open
There will be driving events on the other 2 skidpans
There will be a big generator there for power access
Visitor parking will be out near Horrie Miller Drive
They will have shuttle buses to transport ppl from the carpark to the driving centre
The website is getting updated at the moment, and entry forms should be up by this weekend

I wonder, will trophies actually be awarded this year or simply promised?
LOL
Back to Belmont I say !
Id say that also ends any desire we had to go to this show
What the hell happens if it rains - half the cars get wet the rest are ok ? And im sure promo chicks are going to be keen as hell to walk around on tarmac all weekend. This sounds uber gay

I reckon try to get in the entertainment centre, should be cheap as :)
Also the Dome is a good idea, as is taking it back to Belmont, or even Freo.
I think every club in Perth but one is pulling out.
yeah
if your reading this lloyd, act and act fast. not only will this kill this year but pas forever, and there goes a fat wad of cash you make each year
I will not even waste my time going to work , watch or participate if its in a ****inig tent
um, arent cars supposed to get wet at one stage in their life or another?
i think this is much better...gives you something to actually look at now, instead of the frankly boring display of cars doing nothing...

mc69 your on drugs!
Lloyd, your major disagreement with the convention centre is not caused by them, its you. No one else has or can put on a show there with your disorganised flair and skill.
You still have not given me my trophy fom last year after numerous phone calls and emails.
I highly doubt that you have the ablilty to run a chook rafffle if i organised the chicken for you.
Will i be going this year................yes yes i am, im going to stand at the front gate and call you all day and make your life hell.

it does say TENT but then again itll be **** and people arent going to travel all the way to the AHG, the only people that would go there would be the pplz who transit in perth for a few hours

Next antilag cruise i will be charging 15$ entry to everyone that comes, coz that is essentially what pas is. there will be cars in a carparking, this is a joke.

This is exactly it. At the convo centre, where Parking, Facilities, Food, A ROOF, Power, Etc is all provided all Lloyd has to do is open the doors, he still cant get it right. At AHG he has to organise it all, and more. Good Luck. Go back to Belmont, or even Claremont, the Dome, or head down to Freo (who remembers those days?)

Yeh man I have to agree with you there. I stopped going to the PAS about 4 or 5 years ago - mainly because every year its the same bunch of cars - kind of boring as **** walking around seeing cars you saw the year before... and the year before that... and the year before that... with little change in the entrants. Not to mention the dyno comp and so on was disorganised as f**k, AND the ticket prices were going up in price from year to year.... I dont mind paying for it - but only as long as im getting something out of it.
Oh yeah and about this thread of the new PAS at the new location - who says its even going to rain!?! When you go to the cricket or the footy do you tell yourself its going to rain?? No! Its sunny old Perth, so chances are, its going to be bright skies and clear sunshine... So just look at the forecast during the week - THEN get worried if it looks like its going to rain :P
I think it'd be a tops location if it was a nice day.
Unfortunately you think wrong
its cool for mc with 100 odd people not a car show with 20 000

If you remember its rained the past 2 years of PAS.
who wants to go to a crappy show and shine anyway? I thought antilag was meant to be performance...not neons, LEDs and 24" chrome spinning rims
Id love a show with driving events... need to go back to belmont bad!

29-08-2005, 12:50 PM
i say bring on a powercruise event or similar
i thought that power cruise or something like that was coming to Perth next year?
I'd go if there was proper driving events...but screw having to drive all the way out there then get a bus to see some half assed tent land and still have to pay like $20 entrance fee.

Im just to quietly muse here, but i find it pretty funny that you guys are bagging loyd for considering running the show in the open air at MC, yet, your all gang busters to hit up motorvation, which is also, in the open air, has a pile more booze fueled morons around, and a lot less in the way of decent driving events..
kind of a contradiction don't you think people..
']How is going to be more exciting? Enjoying the shuttle ride too and from the carpark ?
ahg isnt that big dude, i doubt it'll have a shuttle anyway ;)
mc69 thank you for your imput in helping us with pas last year, you would know what went on behind the scenes
yeah, where did i mention that i did, or wanted to help you 'behind' the scenes? why would one care what goes on behind the scene's of a carshow.
as nug said...quite hypocritical.

Can we organise a massive cruise on Sunday October 30th?
perhaps get some gold coins rolling in and donate it to a charity
lets make it big
haha stealing my ideas igs!
yeah im down for that idea
masTers

I think come 30th of October, that charity might be the event formally known as PAS :X
I'll be down for a cruise.

all your bitchings aside. i will be taking my car and attending PAS this year. as long as my pig 180 is ready.
honestly i prefer the PAS show over the [cabin] salon because at least u get to do the driving events. i hate the [cabin] staff, there the bunch of ****wits, not lloyd.
ps: XRW, i agree with eveything u said mate.

in the end if noone goes noones gunna loose besides the organiser sooo realistily who cares, im sure one day a new person will come along and take the concept and start again...hopefully... im not dissin anyone cos i dont know anyoen hahahaha
How about the entire Perth car scene who loses an entire show?
sydefx
03-09-2005, 01:12 PM
well all the time used to bitch about whats not gunna happen, effort could have went into organising ya own event, i mean s**t even i could organise a car show if i had enough money and enough help from other people, in the end if its good or not is another question hahahahah
I organise lots of our own events, simply i dont have the cash or the time to do something like PAS
however, im sure i could do a better job then lloyd is.

i got a big back yard i could fit 200 cars easy just a bit hard driving low car across boggy sand .
but the sound of it i couldnt be any worse than whats been offered now
Apparently this is now cancelled, a shame.

At AHG he has to organise it all, and more. Good Luck. Go back to Belmont, or even Claremont, the Dome, or head down to Freo (who remembers those days?)
No driving events at Claremont, the Dome arent taking bookings anymore, and Freo is now a carpark for imported cars...
As for it being in a tent... wtf is motorvation then? Yes, there's a higher chance of rain, but it's still a pretty good chance of dry...
wherever Lloyd chooses to run it, I'll be there, and I'd suggest I'll be lugging more $ worth of camera gear around in the potential rain than anyone else on here... (Except Rick if he's reading this)
Driving events on the same day at the same venue is something thats been missing for a few years now, since Belmont decided they didnt want them anymore either...
