curious as to what would cause a thread topic to not show up in a main section?

ie this morning went to put something in off topic / movies ... but it wasnt showing up at all in the list of topics.... just now I came back to computer and typed a search and found it and then was able to post in it and now it is shown again..... but no posts in it for nearly 8 weeks did it take itself to the movies??

Over the last few days I've had real issue with this site loading, every time I click on a thread the page fails to load and I have to refresh 4 or 5 times until it loads.
I'm not having issue with any other web page. This happening to anyone else?

I think that's because no-one has posted in a while, down the page further in the thread display options you have to make 'Show Threads from' a longer period of time and more will appear
