So I believe its a 'Love em or hate em' style of bike, i see most antilag members are jap sports bike orientated but coming from a family of people who are v8 and harley/cruiser orientated I thought I'd see if anyone over here is into this style. And also has anyone had any dealings with people over here with them? I have spoken to Jordan (Leist) in regards to these also

been looking at bluecollarbobbers.com and it is pretty cheap for the 'bolt ons' for some cheap jap bikes, i think even mum wants to get a 250 simply so she can reach the ground lol

No 100% sure but the kits you get from the states still have spring suspension in the rear I'm led to believe, worked out that if you buy a 250cc like the one above, they are around $2500 on average and then the parts from US are $1800, just need shipping and then paint, will be pretty cheap although it is still only a 250,

yeah still a 250 but do you really wanna go warp speed on a stripped out hard tail bike with ape hangers? I have looked into this many times and always end up tossing up between a yammi XS250 or somthing like a honda CB500. Either would make nice bobbers but the extra HP would help a bit.

Yeah totally small CC would probs be best.. Up to 500 like you said.. Really wouldnt need or want anymore.
vbroom should post up pics of his CB200... Its a cafe but its something everyone would appreciate. DO it.

My mum wants to get a bike too and a 250 would be pretty sweet. I'm 193cm's and 107kg's too do even as underpowered as it will be, I like cruising, I dont trust myself with power on a bike so will be a good cruiser

Not my style really, basically I'm into cafe racers and the odd sportsbike/bikini fairing bike.
That said, I do love some of the stuff Roland Sands does:

I would love to build one up from a Yamaha XS650, or even buy a cheap Harley sportster
The rigid arse end would be a killer, but the sprung seat and fairly wide rear tyre would help a bit
Gotta finish a couple of cars before this can happen though

I think if they wanted to get technical they could ping you for it for some stupid reason.
I get the feeling older vehicles have a different set of rules...
The best route is to buy a stockish bike already registered and the modify to your hearts content.
Also, if its just a sunday cruiser and you're doing just that, cruising, I dont think the po are going to look twice.

i think cafe's and bobbers are pretty similar. rigid hard tail, springer seat and a teardrop tank really...
here's ours.
