Hey guys..
So have jumped ship from the Water corp to a mining company. And we need some Service Desk people...
Deal is it's 4 days on 4 days off, 12 hour shifts. And as it is 24/7 you will have to do 4 night shifts about once a month.
The pay is extremely good and around 70k after training and you get slotted into the shift roster (could take a few weeks).
I.T experience is essential, as we dont have the time to train rookies.
And the last thing, you do a medical and drug tests so if your not going to pass 100% please dont bother.
please email morganlbentley@gmail.com or coff33@gmail.com
Cheers

It's for Fortescue.
What are some examples of issues that will be dealt with on an average day?
Is it fixing broken keyboards or higher level?

Sorry I thought i put it in the OP it is actually based in East Perth.. So it's city shift work.
It isn't a typical Service Desk role as there is no level 2 so you get all the software installs, configure phones, desktop support and all the changing passwords and stuff like that..
If you have worked on a SD or general I.T before you would be fine...
Will send you an email for some more info.

As he explained, this is a city job. No FIFO.
70K for 4 days work sounds alright to me.
I just started similar position for transfield-worley,
day to day is basically
"I cant access certain files on the network"
"PDMS is running slow"
experience in active directory comes in handy, and sql.

my bad, no fifo then..
that said, $31.96/hr for shift work and doing 12hr shifts is still peanuts.

Forwarding to a mate who is both not a muppet and has a current crappy helldesk job with the government - 4on 4off sounds like something he'd be up for.

Package is still 25k above what a spastic help desk monkey should be getting already!
70k for resetting passwords and having to do 30 mins worth of work a day is pretty bloody good!

Yeah nah.. It is actually pretty good pay for what your doing. Remember this isnt a trade or anything. Most service desk roles are 45-55 unless you work for CSC haha
I have forwarded all the resumes so thats for giving them to me guys :)

^ This guy is a fuckwit.
For a entry level IT help desk job this is much higher than average wage.
If I was still interested in being in the industry I would be applying for this in a flash!
