Hey guys
Got an '04 Commodore SV6 thats due for its 100k km service, so was wondering what I should be replacing on a service, apart from the usuals.
Does anyone know exactly what oil and coolant i should be putting in it?
So far my list includes air/oil/fuel filters, engine & g/box oil (5spd auto), coolant, plugs.
Should I do belts?
Any suggestions on anything else that should be looked at before they come a hassle?

All suggestions greatly appreciated!

(mods if this is in wrong sub forum please move!)

You know your service booklet should tell you the intervals and specs of what needs to be changed, and when.

Just sayin.

From memory 100k is a standard service.

We use 10/30 Castrol Magnatec, will take about 6.5-7litres. Prob stick with genuine red holden coolant, it lasts 2 years.

Auto takes Dex III.

These engines are prone to sludging if not serviced regularly. 15k intervals are fairly gay, Id go 7500km oil and filter in between if it was my car.

Check the belts for cracks, if there arent any they should be OK.

Doing plugs involves removing the intake manifold, DONT undo the front most RHS bolt and rearmost LHS bolt on the manifold or it will seperate and tear the gasket. (Its a two piece manifold). Leaving those two bolts allows you to lift the manifold as one piece to gain access to the plugs. You dont have to completely remove it from the engine, just lift it up a little.
