Its not a race so much as a regularity race. I.e. A heap of old cars punting around at 70%.
However it is definitely worth going down to compete in the mount clarence and windfarm hill climb events as part of the speed event series.

As much as it is a regularity, everyone seems to get that much more serious as its the closest thing these guys would get to a street circuit. Its a great weekend down there, one of Albany's biggest weekends of the year. Personally I love Mt Clarence, one of the best hillclimbs in WA. Windfarm is good if you like to go fast and get some loooong airtime! :)

Yep - generally a really good weekend down there. Been to heaps, only missed last year due to new bub arriving the week before, most untimely of her. You want Motorsport action - try this on then:
Sat: VSCC run Mt Clarence Hillclimb for the old bangers, SES hillclimb at Windfarm for anything & everthing (wings and slicks through to road cars) plus there is round of state motorkhana championship running, usually at bottom of Mt Clarence near harbour.
Sun: Albany classic round the houses for the old bangers run by VSCC. Regularity, not race. But does not stop a good show being put on. Someone always snots a wall or two...which shouldn't happen but does. Red mist does not recognise the regularity/race divide apparently!
Mon: SES runs Mt Clarence Hillclimb.
Hard enough to go have a look at that much action? The real nutters try and compete in it all (& I mean drive back and forth between events on Sat to get two events in one day)!
I'm only a partial nutter. Entered SES hillclimb at Mt Clarence on Monday and also entered Round the Houses on Sunday. Not sure if they'll accept my entry for RTH, but worth a try since I'm in town with my car, so what's to lose? Can't wait, fitted new tyres for front today as well in case of some wet weather.

Nice job. Get your value while you're down there!
I'm one of the nuts that did it all a couple of years ago: running between a set of tests at the motorkhana then up MtClarence for a couple of runs in my group... then back to the khana for more, etc. Then more hill climb action on the Sunday. Then driving home form it all. Ah me daily/race car jobbie.
They changed the hill climbs around so now you have to go to the Windfarm from the khana on the Saturday. It's now a 10 min drive between the two as opposed to the 90 seconds it used to be, but its still do-able; old mate managed it last year.

Yep, good weekend for sure. Well, good and bad for me. Fired it up early Sunday morning for RTH, made it a couple of hundred meters down the gravel road slowly and as I pulled out onto the bitumen it stalled. On a semi-dark road on a corner in a 90 zone. Great. Many hours of cursing, trip into town to borrow a laptop PC and diagnostics later, confirmed the TPS was dead. Which is bad given it's my only means of load sensing for the ecu. Ripped it off, went into town but Repco and Auto 1 had no TPS I could try to match it to. Gave up and went to watch RTH. Caught up with a few lads and eventually found Colin Wishart. Found a Ford TPS off a std manfold in his shed and he gave me a hand bodging it onto my 8 throttle body setup. Late Sunday night tuning by ear out on the hwy and ready to go for Monday morning hillclimb.
Got 9th overall on Monday at Mt Clarence, which was about right (bugger all traction - cold road) and very happy to get car to make it at all! Many thanks to Colin for the loan of his TPS and help.
Now to try again to get an entry for RTH next year...and take a spare TPS with me!
